Southbend clutch sale
I read about the dual disc clutch on sale. My questions are does my 04.5 currently have a dual disc? Would I be better off buying a dual disc? I'm running an edge J/A, upgraded air box and will be putting in an Air Dog and maybe replace the muffler. I'm also going to 33" tall tires. Nothing to write home about compared to what you guys are running.
Thanks

Your truck has a single disk. If that is the only mods you are planning I would go with the SBC Con OFE. The OFE has almost the same pedal pressure as stock, but will hold alot more power than your stock clutch.

I've driven the 3250 on an '05 w/g-56. Aside from neutral idle noise and minor difficulty downshifting into 2nd it had smooth engagement/disengagement. Much more solid clutch than the stocker. Great price on this site for that clutch.

i agree on the sbc OFE. i just pulled my ofe monday in favor of a DD. after 2 years, 20k miles, sled pulling, several drag races starting in 3rd, 30+ dyno runs, and just plain abuse, it needed to come out. It has been over 500hp since install and never did slip once.
the ofe is very smooth, pedal pressure was stock like, holds the power.
as far as the "worst shifting trans" in your sig. change the oil in the trans and seriously look at the SBC clutch hydraulic upgrade. i did the hydro's 1 day before i changed the clutch to see if it helped my shifting, 2nd gear was much easier to get into with the SBC adjustable hydraulic setup.
if money isnt an issue(and the DD isnt much more than the ofe) get a 3250 12cb street DD. very smooth, holds really good.
