South bend questions

allright, the time has come and I had to get a new clutch. I went with the south bend con fe, up to 550 hp. what are yalls experience with the clutch: holding up to TST and crazy larry powerpup for example, engagement, clutch peadal feel compared to stock. also the dodge dealer that is doing the install said that dodge does not recomend resurfacing the flywheel. Is this true, because i find that really hard to believe. Thanks in advance

I resurfaced mine when I did the swap... piece of mind I guess. Mine holds up nicely to TST/Edge stack. Little jerky in reverse, but not anything major.

same as above; a little jerky but not to bad until you add a slow backing hill or weight to the reverse process. just don't feather it haven't dynod yet so im not sure of power holding ability. feels like it will hold though. tell dodge to read the instructions that come w/ the clutch from south bend. there is a taper(runout) surface of the stock pressure plate that needs to go bye bye. needs to be reground flat. other than that i love the clutch!

I would call Peter at south bend and tell him exactly what you want to do with your setup and he will recommend the right clutch. If you ask that question on here you will get 3 different opinions and your head will spin off.

I ended up with the 3250 plate load street dual disc and I am happy with it so far. It is what peter recommended for me and he told me exactly what I can expect out of it

I dont have the number for him but Im sure someone does
I know peter cruises through here from time to time so you could probably do a search under South Bend Clutch

edit: sorry ,didnt read your post very close, see you already bought a clutch , thought you were looking for a recommendation

Same advice -- talk to Peter at South Bend. He'll recommend the best clutch for your application. I have the Dual Disc 3600# 6cb
