South Bend and Beta 4.4
Well, I just got the my new toys installed. A SBC 3250 DD and loaded up the Beta 4.4. I smoked the stock clutch pretty good with the stock 4.10 smarty on level 5. So I orginally was going to get a Valair DD b/c of cost, but I called Pete so to see about a price and he was cheaper than Valair, so a no brainer. Heres my little reviews;
SBC- 1st there no more slipping! too tell you the truth I havent heard any more noise than the stock clutch, which was nice. The only problem is the clutch pedal is a lot stiffer, even w/ a upgraded hyrdos. And shifting is a little slower then stock not much though and a tad hard to get into gear, but I guess thats the nature of the beast.
The beta 4.4- wow this thing is powerful. What is wierd was at level 3 the pedal is way to touchy in 2nd gear unless I give it no pedal it revs to 2.5k in the blink of the eye, which was way to jerky. I loaded up level 5 and it helped out quite a bit, its not as touchy. On a open hwy I was able to go from 70-110mph like it was nothing. And for smoke its on comand unlike the regular smarty which just smoked all the time, but it will roll the coal when needed.

I think you are one of the lucky ones that you don't notice much of a noise change, mine rattles pretty good. And I agree that it does seem to shift a little slower, and occasionally I have hard time getting into 1st gear, requires a double clutch. However, this thing holds some serious power. Overall, been happy with the clutch.
