I am about to make my first tow, 4k lbs, with the mods listed in my sig. I dont have gauges yet, I am running my smarty on #3 will be driving about 700 miles with hills and some mountains. Will this level besafe or should I drop to #1? Thanks in advance.

 

It would be better if you had gauges but you should be alright on level 3 if you take it easy up big long hills.

Not sure about the Smarty as I just ordered mine today but I have watched my Edge juice box pretty close and I tow on mostly flat ground on 5 which is all the way up and drop her down on the hills.

I recognize that you dont have that option though so I wouldnt be doin too much of that without gauges, thats the only way I know when to turn it down cause it still pulls the same. My temps never go over 1250 but I doubt that all stock that would be the case.

Just thought I should mention that I did tear up my stock fuel pump and I figure my driving habbits had something to do with that.

 

I dont like to see anyone flying blind, play it safe with level 1.

 

also keep the rpms up. if you lug the engine you will have a much greater chance of elevated egt's
