Smarty & Reverse Horn TSB ?

I am a long time member, but this is my first post. (Tis better to remain silent and thought a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt.) Great forum.

I am ready to bite the bullet and start upgrading the truck. I have decided on the Smarty Sr. Gauges and fuel supply as well. I have read the FAQ at the Smartys web site and it indicates that the Smarty is flashed with the latest Dodge Factory programming. I really don't want the reverse-door open-backing up alarm. At All. I have a big Lance Camper and find it aggravating enough backing up to load. That is my question! Will the Smarty have that "feature" as part of its programming? If it does, can you custom order without the alarm?

I searched and could not find an answer. I apologize if this is a redundant subject.

Thx.

Jim,

This is a great question since I am in the same boat. Although I do not open the door with my trailer. When I get to the property, I thow her in N and let her coast to a stop while I close the gate. I do not need the horn blaring at midnight waking the dead....ya know. BOB???

Smarty & Reverse Horn TSB

Thanks Nate.

I would really like to know the answer as well. How about this, for those of you who have recently purchased a Smarty Sr. do you have the Dodge Factory Reverse Horn Alarm TSB "feature"?

Anyone?

Thanks,

Jim

you can kill the horn honk thing by jumpering the 2 wires under your seat for the seat belt latch.

Smarty & Reverse Horn TSB?

Hey Chris,

I talked with you a couple of weeks ago regarding an Airdog 100 fuel system. I mentioned I was considering the Edge/Attitude. I have decided to go with the Smarty. Thanks for the for the fix. Would still like to know if the Smarty includes the Dodge TSB. One less thing to mess with ya know! I am also interested in the Revelco special. I will PM you.

You rock man!

Thanks,

Jim

I had the flash for the 2004.5 safety issuse but it was the Reverse horn honk. Ok maybe it is safety.

When I installed the Smarty 06 .. there is NO MORE reverse horn honk.

I had the flash on my 2005. Also had the OD lockout with tow haul, this is 05 only. After Smarty Jr. Reverse honk is still there but the OD lockout isn't.

Smarty & Reverse Horn TSB ?

Thanks Guys,

Interesting, You would think that it would be consistent? I will order the Smarty Sr. If it has the TSB I will do as Cbrahs suggested and jumper the seat belt circuit.
