Smarty mileage
Mike, I don't know. I hear so many stories on which levels gives the best fuel economy but my guess it's really determined by your driving style (and truck). I haven't noticed a big gain, picked up maybe around 1mpg highway if I drive conservatively on level 5. No change for around town driving.

My last tank was 20.86 mpg on beta 4.4 sw3. You have to experiment a little to find what works for you. If there is a lot of in town driving stay on the lower sw's. If mostly highway you can get away with the higher ones. That has been my experience so far. beta 4.3 also is able to provide good mileage on the highway but is so sensitive and wanting to accelerate all the time it is hard to keep your foot out of it. (but it is fun! though)
I am seeing the same as soulezoo. I get the best highway mileage on mild tq mgmt sw #9. For around town stop and go I get best mileage on sw #3. I pretty much keep it at sw #5 to control smoke when I am doing mixed city/highway driving and if I am going to be on the highway for a long trip I will load #9. Of course this is all contingent on being able to keep the right foot under control.

I have the stock injectors/turbo SW with moderate torque management - even #5 is kinda smoky, I've watched a few mpgs fog out an intersection when I forgot to feather the throttle.
Sounds like the beta 4.X version is best for reduced smoke with more power?

4.4 is more controllable smoke mike, you can still turn day into night with it if you try.
there is more power, smoother throttle curve, and i did get better mileage with it towing that before, i had it on level 3.
hey btw, where's my boe?

Remember: more power is from more fuel. More fuel with same air = smoke. Get more air= even more power, less smoke. Can't have everything!!
Hey Chris!
Do you have a standard Quad Race, or one of those modded units w/no timing for stacking? If it's a regular Race like mine, do you stick to SW#8 or have you tried #9 with the Quad turned up?
p.s. both our BOEs are sitting on a Velocity truck somewhere... darn parts vendors!
I have to stay in the office today just to make sure we get this shipment.

i have a non modded race, i only run even with it(no studs). i did try the 4.3 on 8 and cranked up the quad. whooo hoooo really fast.
4.2 and race cranked up=blown freeze plug
cant wait for the boe(need the peace of mind) thanks

as much as i loved 4.4, im going back to the software i have from dec. 06. the beta was a bit to strong and my tranny developed a shudder on acceleration. i cant wait till the full version comes out. i will get the mild trq mang and i bet it will be almost perfect. the milage was looking very promising also

I set the Quad on PL3 and loaded SW#9 (
)... I know it's not best for a stock HPCR, but hey - this is our shop truck for testing & demo(lition?)
Gauge-wise, the abuse appeared to be quite repeatable!
I think the excessive fueling helps to dampen the fire.
Good thing I had the sense to leave the H2O/CH3OH & NO2 master switch off - otherwise there might've been a Ram-sized mushroom cloud.

As soon as we loaded the Smarty, I knew something was different when I cranked up the Cummins. Puffs of smoke off idle in the bay, and a very sensitive accelerator; smoke-free operation requires no more than 10% movement on the skinny pedal.
