The second setting is called tow mode, so that's what I would use. If you have a manual you could probably tow in any of the three.
These are my opinions for towing.
level 1 = 40 Hp says economy mode = safe for auto or manual.
level 2 = 70 Hp says towing mode = safe but marginal for auto or manual.
level 3 = 100 Hp performance mode = unsafe for auto, marginal for manual.

Alot really depends on how you use the power. You could use every setting for towing if you use common sence and don't stab the throttle towing. Your towing not racing.

With 35" tires and not knowing which transmission you have or the towing weight level one is a safe bet. Level two if you're easy on the throttle.

I am wondering how you determine that? I am saving up for the Jr and tow a horse trailer that is about 7k lbs loaded with a stock tranny. I assumed that towing on level 2 would be safe from what I have read from MADS here on this forum. The Quad XZT adds 65 hp and is supposedly safe for towing loads, why not the JR?
I guess my question is, what are the weight to +hp factors in determining what level to use when towing with a stock tranny? I have pulled around 19k lbs when hauling hay. Can I only run stock if I should do that again?

I've towing for two years now with the quad standard on the 60hp mode with a 11-12k 5th wheel. Not a problem. I'm gonna switch to the Smarty JR soon- Methinks...

I said level 1 since he has a stock auto with 35" tires and I presume 3.73 ratio. That combination is really working the tranny when towing heavy.
