I cant find anywhere that tells me what the extra revo settings are, and what they actually do. Anyone with the answers?

I know that one is Torque Management and they are 1-4 so is this less torque management 1-4 or what? So if I run less TM I assume that this will be harder on my drive train during towing or hard driving?

The timming is the same thing 1-4 well does this increase or decrease, and I heard more smoke one way or the other and possibly injector knock?

 

The instructions somewhat confuse me also. I'm running 2 for torque and 4 for timing I think.... and I think that's the most timing and least torque management (most power)... I think

it did thanks, so it sounds like TQ = torque management and the higher the number 1-4 the more torque management or safer on the drive train. The lower the number (except for stock) will produce more torque at low rpm or speed possibly, or harder of the line and possible more drive train damage. Correct?

 

On the TQ 0 being stock and TQ4 being the most aggressive, less defueling between shifts, quiker throttle responce, more smoke POD version.
If you read that thread or other past one's the TQ setting 2&4 were reversed on to Pod version.
Then an updated ver. 5.09 came out the correct it, But most of us or all noticed no change in setting but did gain smoother running trucks. If your just running Revo 5.07 vers. then TQ 2 would be the most agressive, defualt almost like 2 then 3 then 4 then stock.

 

Ok, I just got my Smarty Jr. a week ago so I assume I have version 5.09...? and from reading the directions, 2 was the most aggressive torque... but you're saying it's not?

Why the heck is this so confusing? Cause Marco is from Italy? I don't get it.

 

I think Marco is extremely intelligent, kinda like Einstein, and we're just normal peeps. His idea of easy could be our assumption of hard, who knows. I have to say I was always the simple type, I like being able to just load a program and not have to worry about the adjustments, Marco was good at doing that.

 

Just to clarify, I meant no disrespect to Marco or Italians. I am American, first and foremost... but my ancestors came from the boot. I'm sure he is brilliant. Just wish the directions were more direct...

 

Welcome to the club my brother. But as of right now 0-4 meaning 0 min and 4 max seems to be the way it is. But 5.07 the direction are as it is. 5.08/5.09 are 0-4 min-max, most TM most/ TQ most aggess. TQ ability at lower throttle.
Marco is way smarter then us Hes the SMARTY name, but I'm thinking this is his way of keeping us on are toes and spicing things up.
So Marco give us the power w/o the smoke and you are a GOD!!

Torque Management=Default, 1 (stock), 2, 3, and 4 So 4 would be the most aggresive and 1 would be the least. Does the "default" fit somewhere in or is it completely different?

Timing=Default, 1 (stock), 2, 3, and 4 So the same here 4 is the most advanced and produces the most smoke. I ask the same question here about "default"?

my version said 5.09 fyi, I played today and to me torque management 4 seemed to aggresive, it scared me for my tranny, the rest did not seem to bad I may leave it on 2

I thought I read that timing 4 was to much and may cause some knocking, but I ran it and everything seemed fine, any thoughts?

 

TM you'll have no issues. Default from my understanding is the latest low smoke setting some were in middle of 2&4 but not quite 3 By what I understood when talking to Bob.
By the way what SW you running? My truck really likes SW2 TM4 TQ4 and SW3 TM4 TQ2 and towing 5th wheel SW1 TM4 TQ2.

 

I am glad that this topic has come up. I bought a Smarty Jr last December and I have not got a straight answer from anyone regarding the power settings on the Smarty Jr. I still am on sw3 tm default and tq default but it seems to be a little sluggish off the line. I have V5.07B. This is a private message that I sent Marco, the respone is on top and the question is on the bottom. If anyone figures this out, please let us know!!

The timing # will not increase the HP by a significant amount but will eventually provide a slightly better mileage. Which timing to use depends upon the fuel quality in your zone! You should surely give timing # 4 a try and see how it does smokewise. If you see no increase in smoke then that means that the fuel you're using is good quality. Should the smoke increase go back to the default timing....

Smarty JR - Correction in the torque management.
Does anyone know what that corrects for the TQ? I guess you have to be in the loop to get the info?
