Thanks Quadman. I did plug mine in and tried sw3 tq 4 tm 4 and it did have some more throttle response but I am still going to try the sw3 tq2(like you have mentioned) and tm4 and see what happens. Timing 4 is the most timing right? And I see in your sig that this is your setting, is that because it offers the most power to the ground? Thanks!

It would sure be nice to figure this out for sure. I still am going with timing being 1-4 with 1 the least advanced and 4 the most. I would like to know what the additional setting of "default" is, because I can choose 1-4 or "default".

The same goes for torque management, I assume that 1-4 is 1 is the most torque management and 4 would be the least. This means that set on 4 you will have more response and quicker off the line, low rpm power. I still have the "default" option here as with timing and wonder where that fits in.

TM2 is default. Its the middle of the timing settings. It seems to be the best compromise between EGT's, MPG's, HP and smoke.
According to ah64id in link posted earlier

So TM2 is the same as default? Wonder why there is even a default option then. What does default even mean with timing/torque haha. I have been driving around town today on sw3 tq4 tm4 and it seems a lot more pep in the throttle but still hangs on the lag when smashing the throttle from a stand still. I know its not a gasser with a blower its not gonna melt tires as fast as you stand on it but it seems like it could be better. Dunno, Plug is askin the same questions I was askin when I got mine so now I dont feel like an idiot. I used to get (still do) answers all over the place for the settings. Guess its due to the Jr being fairly new and all of the different versions of software coming out for it. I am going to try sw3 tm 4 tq 2 today. heard from another member that this is the way to go with ver. 5.07B...will let you guys know what I find.

It does seem to give me the most power feeling out of all but does come with some side affect (more smoke) with that said since running B99 bio diesel that has almost been cut it in half. Powered by American fuel/Italin thinking.

It is crazy that default would be #2, why have both then? I assume if timing default is #2 then torque #2 is the same as torque default? I played a little last couple of days and I cant figure it out. Until someone tells me different I am going with both torque and timing being 1-4, 1 being the least and 4 being the most aggresive.

I get no more smoke on any of the settings it seems to me (version 5.09).

After all this talk, I went out and played with my settings...I have ver.5:08. I heard that the torque settings 4 and 2 were reversed on ver 5:07 and fixed on ver.5:09.

Well on ver.5:08, those settings are also reversed...I had been running tq 4 but after messing with it tonight, I'm here to tell ya that I can tell a huge difference between the two settings...tq 2 being much stronger of the line.

The Jr. does everything that it says it does and its an awesome product, but it would be nice to get the settings explained in plain language that we can all understand.

That's what I'm running with 4 for timing and it's the strongest for the Jr that I can tell. To many changes between versions have left us all scratchin our heads I guess....

I definately agree. On ver.5:08 with timing set on 4 and torque set on 2, it definately feels the strongest.

Well I think this is different than what anyone has said, so I do not know if it helps. I emailed mads and asked if the adjustment options default, 1through 4 got more agressive or advanced as the number got higher on version 5.09B. This is what I got in return.

The parameters in Smarty JR can only reduce the performance because Smarty JR has to be safe at all levels on stock trucks.
Increasing (for example torque) the power is less.
Default settings are the best ones for power.
:confused013:

I read this as the default settings are the most aggresive or powerful and if you adjust beyond that it will reduce timing advancement, or add torque management (lessen low end response).

Plug....thats exactly what Bob Wagner told me and thats what I have always ran. Now last week I was messin around with the settings and found that SW 3 TQ 4 and TM 4 ran the best for me. I read from a few members that SW3 TQ2 and TM4 were the best. I tried that and the truck felt very sluggish off the line where TQ4 TM4 was very responsive but it felt that the top end was not as good. Dont you think it would be easy for them to tell us what the settings are? I think I am going to sell mine anyways and go with a Sr. S-06. I do enjoy the Jr but I have a built transmission now and can use the Sr.

I agree although I am going to go buy the idea that the default are the best.

Plug, if you get the chance try the sw3 tq4 tm4. Driveability is very nice!!! Throttle response is awesome but it doesnt appear to put the power to the ground completely. Does anyone know exactly what the torque setting does? I dont think that there is electronics in the transmission for the Smarty to control....what does it do??

Yeh I know the default is to be the as close to the original 5.06 Jr software but once you mess around a bit others fell stronger, at least for me. On mine 5.09 SW#3 TM4 TQ4 is super strong almost to strong, default doesn't compare.
