Smarty Jr to Smarty Sr question

I finally got the bread together for a built tranny (getting it done in approx 3 weeks), and Im currently running a Smarty Jr which Ive been very happy with. I know the ins and outs of the Jr, but I dont know much about the Sr.

My question is this....Since Ill have a tranny to hold the power, would I benefit in trading in my Jr for a Sr for more power? I dont plan on upgrading my turbo or injectors, etc just quite yet. (thats coming as $ allows). Is the Sr worth getting as an upgrade even though I still have a stock turbo and injectors? Any input is appreciated.

Yeah, I thought about EFI live...and its in my long term plans. I can score a Smarty Sr for a pretty decent price...far less than EFI live.

Since the trans isnt going to be an issue soon, how high of a setting could I use on the Sr with stock turbo and injectors, without hurting the truck?

I keep mine on level 5 but I tow often. On level 5 I don't have to even look at my gauges, I just drive. I would think you could run level 7 no problems. I'm not sure if you could get the full potential out of level 9 or not without upgrading your lift pump or CP3. You should be able to run any level you want as long as your tranny holds up fine.

Well if your tranny will hold it I would crank that thing up and let the butt dyno do the talking and just watch your gauges and see what you like but I don't see why you couldn't run it all the way if your trannny will hold it

My understanding was that you needed upgraded injectors and Turbo(s) to run the higher levels of the Smarty Sr....Am I wrong about this...I dont want to hurt anything

I think you are thinking of the TNT version of the Smarty Sr. On the upper levels, I would imagine it would get toasty. A bigger charger would help, but not mandatory.
