While I really like my Smarty with the POD it is absolutely insane that we can not get a definitive answer on the settings for this programmer. One way for POD, one way for REVO, one way for 6 speed, one way for auto, one way for daylight, one way for night time what gives? There has been several threads on several forums and what we really need is Bob or Marco to lay it out in simple plain English what the sequence is for timing and torque, including where stock and default fit in. Not that hard. Lets geter done and move on.

Yeh I've had pod now for awhile and think I've used it twice. A friend of mine has never used MILD(most aggressive) on tq 2w/revo or 4 w/pod so I let him know what we are seeing with pod and after he put it on 4pod (most aggressive) and almost soiled himself. He said and I quote 4 is wicked aggressive and will lay a cloud like a freight train. It feels like you gain an extra 40hp and me like's tranny not so much.
So I'll say Bob I'm not complain just would like it in laymen's terms you know. The product does what it's suppose to do no matter how the configuration varies or rearranges from the norm per update.

So for now... TQ 1 and 3 remain the same for Revo and POD and TQ 2 and 4 are flipped for those softwares.

Safest to worst (thou all are still relatively safe)
TQ (this is oposite of the instructions, and only seems to apply to PoD)
1,2,3,4
For Revo, w/out PoD is
1,4,3,2

Also... what was TQ in the original and all Beta versions before we could mess with it? and was it the same number @ all 3 levels?

Thanks
Ramon

Saw this from Bob Wagner on another forum:

New Smarty software updates :

Apr. 9, 2009 - Software update

Smarty JR - Correction in the torque management

Smarty S06-POD - Corrections in the power levels for TNT software

Guessing it will now match the documentation.

Thats whats keeping me from a Smarty Jr. I've been thinking about one for a couple months. Then I read another thread and get even more confused.

I don't want a ton of smoke, but don't want to have to mess with 50 different cominations of settings either.

I just want a basic, lower power product that won't kill my stock clutch or injectors and doesn't smoke like a freight train.

Without dealing with the myriad of settings, the Smarty Jr. looked to be the one.

It is what you described, it isn't that complicated. I don't use the POD portion of it, just leave it at 99% and let my right foot regulate the power. I just set it and forget it. On my 07 running SW2, TM2 and TQ3, the only time it smokes at all is if I get on it hard, then I would describe it as a really good haze, not the black cloud of death. I figured I have picked up 1 to 1.5 mile/gallon and that's on winter blend. It does make the truck a lot more driveable. I've had mine for about 3 months now and don't regret it for a moment.

Thanks for the heads up Cujo!
I guess I'll have to head over to the site this weekend and download the latest update.

Hit my stride! will do a hand calc Sat: POD 40% mods below - SW2, TM4, TQ4 "indicated" 21+mpg keeping readings proportional.
90% I-95 commute 92mi /day. Good power minimal smoke.

I have my Jr set on the version just before the pod, and run level 2, tm4, tq4. It seems to hold overdrive lockup while pulling my trailer to a unsual low rpm and mph, like 1200 rpms and 43 mph, basically lugs the motor excessively on the hills. My foot can be burried in the carpet just before I feel the kickdown and it holds it, I hate it. Is it just a matter of turning down the tq? Doesn't smoke to bad now.

What advice do you have?

Try using Tq2 or stock even. I like how stock tq works. It just as I remember it stock but with that edge the power of sw2 gives you. Reminds me of my Quad X2 but minus the higher egts.

I just checked and I was running the tq on 2. I guess next trip I will have to try some of the other settings with the trailer attached in order to solve the problem.

I am currently trying level 3 tm4 and tq4 and it feels softer hitting down low than level 2 tm4 tq2.

Thanks for the suggestion.

"Smarty JR - Correction in the torque management" This update did not correct the TQ2,4 that remains the same as 5.08 ver. As I updated to 5.09 and left all setting the same as 5.08 and re-updated. Only thing I've noticed is it runs a ton smoother now on sw3
