Based on the Jr being stock friendly in all modes I would not expect to see any rail pressure options.. more of a Sr thing.

From an email I got from Marco is appears the main goal is minimal smoke and best driveablity for the stock drivetrain, while getting the most usable power and lowest EGT's.

I am looking fwd to being able fine tune the tq management for winter/dirt road driving..

Bob,
So all said and done as a Smarty Jr. owner we are going to be seeing the following:
1)software update to detune level #2 by 25 H.P.
2)Revo
3)POD
anything else that I am missing?

POD is not on the table.

We are talking Revo with timing and torque management options.

can someone clarify "torque management"? Does it just limit the low end torque by not allowing full fuel? thus limiting smoke as well?

In my 07 with the 6 speed...theres one thing that really annoys me!! When idling along in say second gear around my farm...if the truck gets even the slightest load...it automatically throttles up and wont stop till around 1000 rpm...this is very very annoying...is there any way to address this with the JR? has it ever been looked into?

I know i started a thread about it around a year ago when i got my 07...i thought i would get used to it, but it still drives me nuts, and apparently some others as well!

From what I understand tq management is the controled delivery of fuel.. so that you don't get a tq spike and either break the tires loose or break the drivetrain... The factory setting has the most tq managment, and the Jr takes a little away, thou nothing like the Sr.

What you are feeling is what I call the anti-stall, not sure what dodge calls is, but the ECU will fuel to keep you from stalling or lugging the motor below idle rpm.. which usually leads to fueling until about 1K rpms... nothing you can do about it. Its really annoying when driving dirt roads and your in 3rd for a switchback and slowing with the ebrake and you get to 700 rpms and you get fuel you didn't ask for in the corner... Sometimes it is more abrupt that others, it depends on the decel rate as when you are above idle rpm with no throttle input there is no fuel.. so the ECU can overreact if your slowing fast or hit a small hill, or rut in a field, etc...

darn right its annoying!! I wish there was a way to address it? At times it seems to put unneeded wear on my clutch too! I know how to drive a diesel without stalling it, haha.

I can't even get that high of levels......even at WOT, I rarely see 1000.

I still love my Smarty JR......for the price (especially for a used one), you can't beat the HP and TQ gains!

Got to try out my new Maxbrake Brake controller for the first time... All i can say is HOLY #$%& i never thought i could have a brake controller like ford's factory controller.

maybe it's just that i'm not familiar with the Jr, but i would be concerned about the accuracy of my pyro if 1000* was rarely seen at WOT.

Along with that question, I was curious when Bob thinks the SW upgrade to address the setting 2 (original subject of this thread) will be ready.

Bob, can you chime in?

I'm still waiting to purchase a JR...
