Smarty Jr. Came Today--WOW

Well I played around with Smarty Jr today and all I can say is WOW. I loaded the economy tune first, which I felt was comparable to the 60hp tune on my Xzillaraider. Nice little kick but I wanted a tick more. Timing rattle wasn't bad at all and this would be nice for towing with a stock trans I believe.

Went and loaded the Towing tune and all I can say is if this is just the towing/70hp tune, I am not even going to touch the Performance tune with my stock trans... I get the feeling that even running empty the Towing tune is ALL my stock trans wants. The truck is a linear powered rocket ship to whatever speed I want to get to.

Best thing of all, I cannot hit 1150 degrees no matter how hard I try. (Empty) Of course it only got to 10f degrees for the high today. But my Xzillaraider on 100 would bury the pyro at 1500 on cold days. Even at cruising speeds EGTS are down 50-100 degrees.

It smokes a lot more at low boost than I expected, but actually I think it is just right--not a freight train and not a sissy little grey puff. So I am happy there as well. The 70hp tune feels way stronger at the bottom than my top setting (100hp) on Xzillaraider. Once I hit OD it feels roughly the same maybe a little stronger. I know it is a little stronger because it feels like it is on the verge of slipping the trans.

Changed my tire size and got it all dialed in by GPS. It took me three tries to get it perfect, but it only takes like a minute to change it so that was fine.

I like the power and drivability much better, and the EGTs are just wonderful. I don't know how they did it but to get that much power and actually LOWER the EGTS from the FACTORY tune is unbelievable.

The only thing I don't like is the inability to switch on the fly...if there was a way to do that.....wow.....

Thanks Smarty...

From: Well I thought I lived in America, but its looking more like france every day.
I got mine thursday and I havent put it on 100 hp yet, worried about the trans also. The 70 hp is perfect for me, its like a new truck. Im looking forward to pulling my 5th wheel with it. To me its was worth every penny for the smarty jr. Im sure in a few days I will try 100 hp just to see...

i love mine i got it last weekend, the 100hp makes my truck feel like my friends imported silvia, but i have only ran it twice. Has anyone else noticied that when they put it on 100 after a full run it sets back to stock? It's happened both times i ran it...Other than that, its the best thing i have bought for 450

I am really leaning towards getting one, especially before the dyno day coming up in march. I already have a TST box, from what I hear it is an awesome combo!

I love my jr. I leave it on the 40 horse tune all the time

Jst picked up a horse today on a 750 mile trip. Did great! Ive put probably 5000 miles on mine and 2000 of those towing ...even pulling 26000 i cant get her over 1100 egts. I cant believe what they have done to get the 5.9 to run so good.

Im stoked....

got me a nice 9 yr. old 16 hand red roan double registered Spotted Saddle/Tennessee Walker to boot today too! 1250 bucks!

I got mine 2 days after I ordered it. Put it on 100 for a few hours. Downloaded the stack tune for my XZT, & stacked them. Still haven't gone over 1375* with 600# in the bed going up a hill. Won't know for sure 'till I get my camper back in the bed if I need a new turbo. After running with the stack for a few weeks now. I can't go back.
