Smarty 4.2,4.3,4.4
Smarty 4.2,4.3,4.4
So what are the differences suppose to be with all these beta versions floating around out there? Will they all evolve into actual programming, or are they all being tested to release ONE new program?
4.2 ? not sure
4.3 - suposed to be a race version ?
4.4 - suposed to be for towing/mialage?
my understanding is 4.x versions will be the basis for all upcoming updates. and from what i understand there may/may not be mutiple torque management levels for each.
and no, there they are not for just 4.5- trucks. 03-04 ARE FULLY SUPORTED.
please be patiant, marco is a perfectionist. i waited a long time from when all there was CATCHER for the 2nd gen trucks, got excited about the anouncment that they were doing the smarty and estatic about the 3rd gen smarty. it may take some time, but its worth the wait.

you mean s04 ?
4.2, 4.3, 4.4 are data versions. they are all beta programs that are not available to the general public.
to view what software version you are running jot down the data that flashes on the screen when you first plug it in.

I've heard the 4.2 version referred to as the "hot" one. Not sure about 4.3. 4.4 seems to be labeled as "towing and mileage".
When I compared 4.3 and 4.4 on the dyno they put down the same numbers. Yesterday I compared 4.2 and 4.4 at the track and they seemed to run comparable ET's. 4.4 also put down the same peak numbers as the current Wild program on the dyno.
Overall, to me, it seems like all the beta versions are putting down about the same peak numbers as the currently advertised programs (ie. #9 = 170hp). How and when that power is produced is the most dramatic difference I've noticed.
