Slipping My Sbc Dd3600

My Clutch Has Slipped 30% And I Have Not Even Turned My Boxes Up Halfway. I Hear A Little Rubb/ Whine Nose Letting Out Of 2nd When I Take Off. The Noise Is Not Loud. Just Sounds Like A Little Rubbing Maybe. Anyone Got Any Ideas On How Much Power It Take To Slip A 3600 Like That.

how many miles do you have on it? they are designed to slip on take off for smooth engagement. i would be more worried if it were slipping in the higher gears.

Screaching from a dual disk while "letting out" on your clutch pedal is normal.

Blackbeast,
If you thought about it for second you would realize that when you are "letting out" with your foot that any clutch slips. If engagement was black and white then the vehicle would lurch forward and give you whiplash....this is why you have a clutch pedal....to control engagement and disengagement of the clutch itself.

Robert,
DD's are not designed to slip when they are fully engaged.
The end user is the one who slips them with his or her foot.

I have literally destroyed/melted my DD's before trying to pull in stupid high gear and after I did the damage it still wouldnt slip when fully engaged and cooled down.

To answer your question on power it takes to slip a 3600 12CB. I would venture to say way more than you have to throw at it.

My guess when he says his clutched slipped 30% is from what his Edge box is telling him. I know you can't tell any other way that is has been 30% or not.

I know I read that beast atleast used to us the Egde Juice module which tells you how much slippage you are getting.

I think it measures revs at the motor vs. wheel rotations.

Its From The Edge Box. Yeah Im Not Totally Sure But It Sounds Like A New Noise From My Clutch A Rubbing Metal Sound When I Take Off From 2nd Thats What I Start From. Im Sure Its Fine And Im Also Sure Pourindiesel Is Right About The Slippage. I Thought That At First Because The Boxes Were Down Pretty Low. I Defiantly Think I Have The Power To Slip A 650 Though. Maybe Not The Way I Was Tuned But Who Knows. Is It Bad To Drive Around At 130-170eng Temp . I Cant Fix My Thermostat Till Tuesday. I Drive Around Town 135-145 And 150-180 On The Freeway. I Know Its Lower Than Normal But Is It Bad. I Have Only Given Her Hell When She Was Around 170

Yes, the DD's will make noise when engaging; that's why I am doing the new spring upgrade for mine to eliminate the noise and clatter. I doubt you can slip that 3600 with your power because you are just driving the truck and not towing or sled pulling which is when you might begin to slip it. I have a lot more power to the wheels than you do right now with your boxes down and I cannot even begin to slip the clutch. Even in 1st gear with my massively heavy rolling stock, the clutch still grabs hard enough to bog the engine if you don't know how to use the throttle.

I don't see an issue; as long as you let it warm up before you start driving, the temp gauge will have no affect on your engine. I can't think of any reason to think your engine wouldn't be well within it's limits. It's just the gauge that is faulty.
