Side by side gauge pod
Well i apologize scotty as i really do understand. In all actuality this is an interesting thing to watch. (yeah just what you wanted, right? to have your whole process under the microscope?) to se the inside view of how that simple little looking piece in your truck can take so much of an individuals time to design and perfect and meet all resonable variable tolerances. In the end everyone is going to be happy im sure. I am sorry if my remarks were cutting. as a consumer of aftermarket products, its refreshing to see a person take such time and care to bring something unique to market. This should be documented as a behind the scenes! What amazes me is this thread keeps coming back. when you put this puppy to bed im sure a relief will wash over you. while i may not need this paticular product let me be the first to say thank you for the hard work.
No need to apologize as I know how frustrating it can be when we have plans for our vehicles and the carrot is dangling on a product that is not done.
I went through that waiting almost a year for the new Toyo HT tires. I know others went through that or gave up on other products. I was just about to drop the money on another set of Goodbadyear tires when I got the call for the Toyo's. I am so glad I was able to hang on as my tires where in sad shape.
I completely understand when someone wants or needs something.
The molds where too long and a bit too deep, I have trimmed and reshaped and repoured and now I impatiently await the return of the prototypes and hopefully a finished product.
Now that would be nice.
I will post pix and info before Christmas.

I have parts here, just need to get them trimmed for test fit.
I went through several molds and shapes to get to this.
These parts arrived here from the thermoformers two days ago.
I will post when I get them fitted, with pix. I hope to do that over the weekend.

I just trimmed the pod and cut the gauge hole. Painted it to match.
Have to let it dry, mount a gauge, mount the pod to the SRT-10 A pillar and then test fit it in the truck.
May not get it all done today but I will try.

oh ya
couldnt remember
that pod fit my dash perfect
so Im thinking there must be some differences in dashes between trucks, maybe some distortion or something
its a little tight getting gauges and wiring in there. little fingers like mine help
cut the gauge hole? didnt I put the three holes in there?
or are you talking a hole for wires?

Scotty is talking about the original add a pod...it lives!
It was difficult and frustrating enough that it became personal to finish this darn project...way to go Scotty for keeping the idea alive.

As soon as I can get this in the truck for final trim and fit I will post pix and info.
So far it looks like it will ship painted with a gauge hole and mounting screws.
You will need an SRT-10 pillar and a 3/4" hole in the side of the SRT-10 mount to fish the leads of the gauge in the add a pod down the pillar.
Once pricing, pictures and info are posted, I will look at taking orders.
All of this is contingent that it fits well on the truck this weekend.
Scotty

or anything - I'm just curious.
