Should i be concerned about a small leak?

Noticed today that i had about a 2-3" spot under the truck on the driveway...was still wet, not much at all, looked like red fluid (trans?)...was located under where the motor and trans connect....couldnt crawl under the truck as i was dressed up...but took a quick look and didnt see any wet areas...didn't leak at the two locations i went to today....

I'm not a mechanic, so no experience, should i be concerned enough to have someone look at it? or just monitor to see if it gets worse? if it leaked once, assume it will do it again correct? Red fluid is typicall trans fluid correct?

The leak may be antifreeze. There has been talk of a short hose near the turbo/block that leaks ( loose clamps )
Do a search for more info

Thanks for the reply, suppose it could be as i doubt my trans fluid is any color other than black (gets that way pretty quick, at least it did pre dtt)

your tranny fluid gets black? uh, you have issues with it then. unless you are burning the fluid by overheating it, atf should stay red for a long time.

check to make sure that your rear freeze plug(above the bellhousing) isnt leaking...
mine has blown out before.
and as stated above, coolant is red.

Mine is orange?

The tranny overflow is in the bell housing...did you do any extreme four wheeling or did you overfill your ATF?

My trans fluid when it was stock (pre dtt) was "color challenged"....dont think it's an issue now.

I'll check the freeze plug when it's stops raining, thanks for the advice. Don't think it's coolant as it stained the driveway...

Didnt 4x4, but was driving it harder than i ever had before....trans temps didnt get over 180*, all other parameters looked good, and it felt mighty nice powerwise...trans was filled with fluid by the DTT installer, so assume it was at the correct level.

Thanks for the advice gents...

Things i'll check when it stops raining
- Freeze Plug near Bell Housing
- Coolant overflow (I know the one by the radiator leaks from the
hose...need to put on a clamp and check the short hose by the block)
- Check trans fluid level to ensure it isnt overfilled
- Continue to monitor for further leaks

Take it to the dealership just make sure you take the smarty off. I noticed the same thing coming from my truck. I had red spots under my truck. I thought it was coming from the tranny but it was coming from my valve cover gasket. I took it in and they replaced the gasket yesterday. Just make sure you get it done before the warranty is over.

It actually was running down the side of the black onto the tranny and on the ground. I had also checked my fluid and it was fine but make sure to take it in and let them know.
