As far as I know, there is only one company producing a short throw shifter which is BD. Here is a link to the manufacturer's site:

http://www.bd-power.com/ram/shortshift.html

Most places see it for about $185.

www.genosgarage.com is a good place to purchase it from.

Here is a link to it:

Bradley,

With BD, you may be on your own once you pay for the item. A member was recently complaining about this product and the lack of customer service provided after he purchased the product. Here are some related links.....

This is why i'm a little leary of purchasing this product. I was going to say something at first, but didn't want to disparage the product.

Personally I'd love to see a company such as B&M make a short throw shifter for our rigs. I've used them in the past and they are excellent pieces.

Nobody NEEDS this item or in reality any upgrade. But it is nice to have. After I modified my truck I can be really lazy and place my elbow in one place on the console and just by wrist action go thru all 6 gears.

Oh the LAZY factor, forgot about that

I can see the need in a car if you are looking for 1/4 miles times but just didn't see it in a truck. I also heard of some problems with the BD, but they may have them resolved. BD does have their own board you may get some answers from.

Thats why I have two 6 speeds, one in the truck, and if I want to get lazy and fast got one in the T/A....

From looking at teh one that BD advertises, it would just be nice to be able to shift, since I do most of my driving in the city with a lot less distance, maybe its like the old saying if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. Maybe the money would be better spent for a billet grill, or Ram air, or etc............................

Or you can make the pour mans short throw, just cut about 12" off the stick, it will have a shorter throw then

I got one for my girls truck for xmas. Her father has a D-Max and is always bragging about the power of the Duracrud. I wanted to give her every extra edge I could when she lines up against the Allison Auto... the $189.00 is a small price to pay for serious household bragging rights
