shocks for 2500

I have an 03 2500 shortbox. I want to improve the ride to make it smoother and if it lifts the truck a couple of inches then that is good too

What is the best shock to improve the ride? What is the best to lift the truck a couple of inches?

Thanks,
Don

It would be most helpful to you and us if you would divulge to 2wd or 4wd. And shocks alone will not lift that nasty joker a bit.

Bilstein's ride the best, lifted or not. Check out www.jackit.com for all lift/shock needs.

Bilstein part number for these 4x4 stock trucks with or without the 2"leveling spacer in the front:

BE5-6681-H5 frt and BE5-6647-H5 rear.

Jackit was 71.99 ea plus $25 S&H
Shox.com 69.96 ea
eshocks.com 74.95 ea with free shipping
Performance Products.com 79.97 ea

last time I checked....

I have Bilstein 5100 series for $74 each. Shipping depends on your location. And unlike those places, I actually drive a Ram.

Whoops. This one'll get pulled pretty quick. You have to be a paying advertiser to post your business name and make posts like this one. Might want to check out the advertisers section before you run afoul of the admins!

Well, we are working on getting the banner up now and my company credit card was charged the advertising fee.... However, beyond that, I'm a member of the site, actually drive a 2500, have pertinent info about the subject. And I don't see where shox.com, eshocks and others are sponsors.

I'm hitting what you are pitchin'. We will see what happends. But I'd find it odd that prices of non advertisers can be posted, and I won't be allowed to respond in kind.

That and the snow, mountains, cool temps, trees.... Oh yeah, and don't forget fresh fish!

I'm from ME originally, the wife's from WA. TX wasn't our cup of tea. Came to the TX because it was a good job to do for a couple years and now I've escaped! And we live about a hundred feet from the ocean right now, too! Naraganssett Bay, to be specific. Ahhhh.

I tried the Edelbrock IAS shocks on my '98. Way too soft yet they exaggerate every ripple in the road while not controlling axle bounce and oscillation. Bilsteins have high beam revues but they're a teency bit expensive. I put Monroe Reflex's on our Durango and a buddy put a set on his '03 2500 Ram. They work on the same principle as the Bilsteins but cost $44 each. No idea if they'll last or not but I'm going to put a set on my '05 in the near future. The ride is firm and axle bounce and oscillation is gone. The Monroe Sensatracs and Truck/SUV shocks don't control axle bounce and oscillation. No better than stock. Just my humble opinion.

I've been using the Rancho 9000X's on this as well as my 03 2500 Hemi and I've enjoyed my ride...
