Is there a shifter for the 6-speed box that will move it closer to the driver and make shorter throws. I love my 05, but my 01 had the same problem. shifts are to long and it is to far away from me. I have thougt about heating and bendin the shift arm, but if there is one out there, I will buy it.

BD makes a short shift kit that will reduce shifter travel about 20% but it doesn't put the shifter any closer. bend your lever with the BD kit and youl be there. Do you have the NV 5600 or the G56? The kit is for the 5600 but they might have one for the G56 too.

Tomeygun is making an SRT-10 shifter conversion that moves the stick closer to you, I think they are close to being ready - for the shorter throws go with the BD Short Shift kit

Pull the shifter out. Torch and bend repeatedly to your confort. Repaint and replace. My Uncle did this. It worked out nice to move it closer, but throw is still the same.

I made my own short throw sifter. I aslo bent it slightly to the left. I also shortened it slightly, and used a fuller shifter.

I used the BD Short Shift kit. I was nervous appling heat to the shifter with the rubber insert in there, so I just clamped it in to a vise and applied my stealth 300 lbs of weight to the end of a 3 ft pipe over the shifter, it bent pretty easy, made a nice and smooth bend without needing new paint, about 2" closer to me now, nice feel. My truck shifts like my wife's VW Beetle (5 spd TDI) now, I'm happy!! SRT-10 **** tops it off.
