Screaching Noise?
I was hauling my slide in camper over the mountains a week ago, & when I dropped out of O/D to 3rd, & T/Q locked I had a loud screeching noise after a couple minutes.
I was on a 6% grade @ 60 mph. 2500rpm, & 25-30# boost. After a couple minutes I heard a screaming noise that was at the same pitch as my turbo.Boost never wavered, & was still pulling strong, no smoke, & after I let off it stopped.
It did it again a few miles later, & when I let off I saw my boost dropped to 8# but the screaming continued for a few seconds, & stopped.
On the way home It ran fine @ 75mph with 25-30# boost ocasionaly in O/D with no problems/noises for over 300 miles
It sounded metalic in nature, but I think my turbo is fine. Any thoughts as to what it was?
