Schaeffer Oil, Synthetetic 9000

Does anyone have any experience using Shchaeff Oil, they are a pivate co that does little advertising. http://www.schaefferoil.com/ They have product lines, lubricants and fuel treatments for primarially for trucking farming and industry. Looking at their Synthetic 9000 oil which meets VW TDI spec 505. This is the only oil I have found that meets 505, it costs $14/gallon and VW's oil cost over $100/gal. Looking for a synthetetic oil to use in VW TDI, Dodge Cummins, Yanmar in JD, Kubota in Kubota, and Komatus diesels. Their fuel treatments look goode also. G. Fain

I use Schaeffers and think it great, x-200 in the engine and #192 Neutra plus in the fuel. I always praise their products here but it never seems to catch on. Do the research like i did you'll find schaeffers products to be the top performer in alot of catogories

It's argue-ably up there with the best oil money can buy for less. I run it in everything I own.

Thanks for the information. Planning to try fuel treatment. Think it is diesel treat 2000. Distributor said he would give demo also. The spec sheets loot good and the prices are much better than competitors.

I've used the stuff for several years now, and have zero complaints. My dad also uses it in his Peterbilt and has oil samples checked often, nothing bad to report. We don't give near 14$ a gallon though, more like 11$.

WFO, Thanks for the feedback. My local rep quoted $13.92 per gal and an on line source quoted same price. Who/how do you get it for $11?
Thanks, G. FAin

The $11.00 stuff is most probably Schaeffers 7000 series, which, I believe is more of a semi-synthetic, 15-40 oil. It is, also, extremely well thought of.

The 9000 is a 5-40 with more synthetic in it. I've heard that is is a mixture of PAO & Group III base stocks. Aparently, both of these base stocks have their benefits & a blend is a good thing. These oils are supposed to have very robust additive packages, also.

Schaeffers is the oldest oil company in the US (1839). Started building greases for wagon axles. You never read anything bad about their products at "bob is the oil guy.com". Always highly praised. However, it's a bit difficult to get in some areas.

I have talked with the rep once and think that the diesel syn is total syn with additives..

But anyway - free shipping on orders of $200 or $250 depending on who you get it from.. Look at bobstheoilguy.com.. so it does not matter where you are at..

not hard to get

I order the 250 minimum for free shipping. If you can get UPS you can get schaeffers. And never leave your chair.
