SC Performance Setting: will 48RE Last

Will the auto last in the performance setting if you don't race or do power take offs? I'm new to the world of the slush box? Also, can someone point me in the right direction in San Antonio for a Converter and VB if that is what I need?

One more question for those with the SC. When a friend was installing in his truck, when the program is downloading, you could hear the lift pump in the tank making all kinds of noise like it was pulsing trying to pump..... this went on for 15 minutes while the program was downloading.... isn't this bad for the pump???

ive had mine for 7k miles and have had zero problems. matter of fact i really like it. i wish it would do what its advertised to do, but im willing to give it time. as far as the lift pump, i have never noticed mine, but you do have to program the computer w/ the ignition on so who know. also i was hard on mine for the first couple months, now that the new has worn off i take it pretty easy so hopefully itll last. when she dies im gonna get an el grande tranny.

if you havent already i would strongly suggest some gauges too

I put one on my 2004.5, it makes silly power. I am not saying it is better than other brands, this is all I know. But, within 24 hours of not too hard use, I can't floor it in 6th gear because the clutch will slip (27K on truck, less than 2k of towing a 4k trailer). It also smokes quite a bit. A buddy has one on a 2003, he says his does not smoke. I personally am not a smoke fan, but the power increase is great.

All I guess I am saying is what beat up my clutch (I did not do any clutch dumps, just flooring it) might beat up your trans.

Good luck & have fun.

My pump does the same thing everytime I load mine up. So no I wouldn't worry about the lift pump

I will put my guages in this weekend. How much difference is measuring the Tranny fluid in the pan vs the line? Genos is sending me the replacement plug?? will that be accurate?

Call up James Northum in midlothian (PM for his number) and talk to him. He's building mine in a couple of weeks. Does amazing work and a real nice guy to boot.

Brett,
If you ever interested in doing biodiesel, I just moved from Montgomery and I have a friend up there that is cranking it out... he's got over 10K so far on 100%.

every time I install my SC I get the same noises. But I am trying hold off on a tranny so I am leary about running performance all the time. Its to hard to stay off the pedal, but what the h*ll need a reason for a new tranny.

Sorry, I didn't clarify.... I just moved from Montgomery AL., not Texas. I haven't decided yet to do any biodiesel down here. I don't have room to make a mess.
