Arrow Running High and low beams @ same time

Can this be done without buying the Bright box. I was thinking of putting a relay on the high beams and having it power the lows. Has anyone done this?

Good question. The only way to know if it'd work is to try it. I know the lites are monitored/controlled by the computer and if amp draw changes, your gonna set off a warning lite. Let us know how it goes. I don't like the idea of spending all that cash on a brite box either.

There is a reason the Brite Box exists...any other or cheaper method has its implications.

Do a search for fog jumper and it'll turn up an explanation of the pix in my gallery.

Nevermind... I see now it was highs and lows... not highs and fogs. whoops

Low + High beams

Yes I have modified my high beams to trigger a relay to leave the low beams on. It cost about $30.00. I used two TYCO 40 amp automotive relays one for each side and it works great. PM me for more details if you are interested in the specifics.

I need to look into doing something about my stock headlights. That is one of the few things I am NOT impressed with on this truck. I can't see crap at night, especially on a back road. I know I'm probably spoiled with my Jeep's lights (100W e-codes - not exactly road legal) but I like to see!

I don't think tapping or splicing wires will work on a third gen. All computer contolled stuff. At least on an 05'.

Thumbs up

I'd be interested to know if the jumper would work on my 04.5 as well. I performed the fogzilla mod on the fogs & that made a great improvement, but even more light on the cheap $$$ would be awesome too...................
