Roller's Were Hit!!!

Well after all this time I finally hit the rollers. Although, I didn't get TQ #'s, as I got my truck dyno'd on a dynojet at Jotech. Jotech is an import shop, so they didnt have the a place to tap into.

Anyhow

Smarty 4.4lvl 9 /Quad X2 Race Stack = 484.7rwhp!!! My goal was 500hp, but I realistically went in with a guess of 468hp....I beat that!

Nice numbers, but it should do better with a optical sensor equipped dyno,to read the rpms correctly...

I know HPP(Lewisville) has one, not sure if SpeedTek in Ft worth has one(off Carson)

Well are you talking better HP number or just being able to read the TQ? I was told the optical sensor was mainly for TQ?

Little of both, youll have a more accurate reading, and I like to know torque numbers, even though HP is what matters

With that combo I would think you should be a little over 500, do you still have stock injectors?

Hello,

Horsepower is not directly measured. It is calculated from torque and rpm. They should be able to provide torque numbers. Maybe they do not have the software set up properly to provide the torque numbers, a conversion is needed for them since it's an inertia type dyno.

Just get it on a load dyno. No sensors to deal with and you'll probably see 520/1150.

Turn your Quad box down, You will get better #s.

When I first started Dynoing Smarty, I tended to leave my TST "high".

Increase the Quad 1 increment at a time, while stacked with Smarty, you will break 500.

I actually did hit better numbers with the Quad installed, much better..and its definately much faster by SOTP feel!

I did find out from talking with one of my friends who works at Quad that I ran the dyno test wrong. The shop I took it too was not a diesel shop, and the truck was run in 3rd gear with tow/haul on. I was told that I needed to run it in fourth and to load up the turbo by the use of the break for an accurate reading. Im probably going to give it another run sometime when I find a dyno with the correct tools!

He said I should be in the 520-530hp range....do you guys think he's right?

You will be right at 500+/-, you will see better #s with the 4.3 or even the 4.2, if you don't like the touchy throttle put the 4.3 on level 1 and the Quad X2 on 3(pressure only). This combo also kicks **** on the 4.2(my favorite)

The way a Dynojet dyno works is HP is actually measured and TQ is calculated. But you need RPM to calculate TQ using HP. The numbers will not be more accurate with or without RPM. The way it is measured is by spinning the big drums (weight) a certain distance (circumference of the drums) in a certain amount of time (time is provided by the vehicle). It's very simple really and cannot be screwed up.

Nice numbers. If you could provide a graph of HP over speed then I could calculate what your TQ would be.

By the way I don't use 4 and 5 on the quad at all, if you watch the RP gauge closely they don't help after level 3, in ramping or max psi. Also, don't be scared of level#1 on the 4.2, it is very strong on my truck, and our trucks are very much alike. Even though it's only #1 it has dynoed over 170hp w/o the quad.
