Revo- Less smoke for towing
Revo- Less smoke for towing
Well, I'm wore out w/cleaning soot off the side of my 5er so my ? is this: what would be the best settings to have on my Smarty Revo for the least amount of smoke but still have added power? Should I go back to 4.11? TIA
I have it on mild now & SW3 so I'll try that. When I had it on MOD TM & on SW5 it was pretty bad. I don't mind the smoke when I'm not towing, but it collects pretty bad on my camper.
Same problem I am having. Our tow rig has a set of Flux 2's, a modded cp3, and a HTT 62/71/13ss Turbo. Also studs, springs, etc.
Usually the wife drives it around running TNT on level 3 (551 hp on dyno) but for towing our trailer (12k toy hauler) i put in regular REVO and even on level 1, tq 1, timing 4, rp 0, it smokes insanely bad.
Take off the revo (back to stock ecm program) and it doesn't smoke at all but even the slightest hill equals 1400* egts.. With revo its under 1200. But the smoke is absolutely lame. It does the same thing towing my 350k$ boat and I won't even let people wear shoes inside the boat, yet my truck spews soot all over the outside.
I would like to go back to 4.11 but I lost the file I need. I wish the timing only level on the REVO (level 1) wouldn't cause it to constantly smoke while cruising at 65-70 on the freeway on flat ground.

What about SW 1 on 4.11. It says it is for no smoke situation but it also says it is 1/2 the power of 'stock'. What exactly does that mean? I can't see it truly being 1/2 the power as stock because that wouldn't be worth a flip.

I have the Revo/TnT and I ran that exact combo this past week and the smoke was never an issue unless I lugged it. Pulled great and temps were good.

That is actually sw 0 that is 1/2 power of stock... done for those folks needing to pass smog checks, want a "valet" sw or has a son like mine.

1400* and below. I hit 1400* one time pulling a long steep hill in 90* temps with about 10k behind me. I only hit that because I wanted to see what the truck could do. I've pulled this same hill many times with less of a load with an Edge Juice w/Attitude, a Quad X2 and with the two stacked at lower settings then the Smarty and they would easily hit over 1500* at a much slower speed. I hit the 1400* at 75mph and still pulling. This is with a stock turbo also. On the rest of the hill I cruised up at 65 below 1200*
