"resonated" tip???

dumb question probably, but what's a 'resonated' exhaust tip vs. a normal one?

A resonated tip is like a small muffler. It really doesn't quiet the sound. It's supposed to deepen it. I had them on an 82' blazer and it didn't seem to do too much. Don't think it would do anything for a CTD, but I've never seen or heard one yet.

hmmm, not looking to quiet things up (stock exhaust with muffler delete), but do like the idea of deepening the tone. Any experience??

Mine deepens the tone. 4" in and 6" out. It definitely makes a noticeable difference in sound...

I had a rolled tip on my old truck, it seemed to deepen the tone a little.

I noticed the same when I installed the rolled 5" tip. The tone is a little deeper. And I'm still running the stock muffler.

Dodgezilla, you just did the muffler delete only, right? I thought about doing the same because I don't like the sound from the small mufflers. Would you do it again?

It's 18" long and I got it from DPPI.
Yes I did the muffler delete while keeping the cat in place. Personally I think it sounds better than any system I have heard. Sounds like straight pipe but only about 2/3rds as loud. I have no plans to replace my system with anything else. Nuff Said.....
