Question Ravelco Anti-Theft Device

Anyone using this? I had someone try to break into my truck the other night, but thankfully my alarm went off and scared them away. We've been having quite a few Dodges stolen in my area and since my truck doesn't fit in the garage, I'm looking for a good anti-theft device. Their website had good info but I'm looking to hear from people that actually have it installed in their truck.

Do a search on it. A few threads pop up about it. Pretty sure a few guys here use it. Are you down in Arizona?

I have the Ravelco anti-theft device, in fact CBrahs installed mine while I watched. Great little device. I believe in our trucks it disconnects the fuel and ignition/starter system. My factory alarm module still functions independently of the Ravelco unit. The wires are all black, spliced into the systems out in the wiring harnesses in the engine bay. Not complicated, you just unplug it when you exit your truck. I use a snap clatch and attach it to my keys so it won't get lost or fall out of my pocket. Upon return, just plug it in and go. If you forget to plug it in, the truck won't start with the key. Nice little gadget.

I also have the Jimmy-Jammers on the door handles, that way someone cannot pry my door locks open. I have my factory alarm module set down a little, too much thunder in NM, sets my alarm off all the time. So, the Ravelco is the backup just in case someone gets inside. Also, I keep a little piece of paper over my VIN plate. That way someone cannot get my VIN and have a key made. I know the dealerships have their security measures regarding key making, but thi is just cheap insurance in case someone has a connection to a dealership computer.

If you live close to the border, better take extra care re: your diesel pickup. There's a lot of threads on www.turbodieselregister.com regarding stolen trucks, lots and lots are in Texas and Arizona. They don't get them back either. They are being stolen and being taken to Mexico, and beyond to other countries too. One guy did get his truck back and it was major torn up, turns out it was used to take a bunch of illegals across the border (this direction) and was driven with the lights out, bushes knocked out headlights, bent fenders, etc. Both Democratic and Republican parties both are to blame for the invasion of these illegals. I'm not a racist either. Lots are good people (the illegals) and some aren't. No other country in the world doesn't care about their borders, except here. You oughta check out the Mexican government's laws regarding illegal aliens in THEIR country-they are major TOUGH-they don't like the people from central america.

New Mexico has a lot of diesel thefts too, some are also reported over on the TDR site. Truly a headache for us all, you can never get enough security stuff installed on your truck, but the more you have the less the thieves will want to mess with, maybe the concept will make them move on to a lesser prepared victim. It seems as though the police mentality is that you are insured so no big deal, or at least that's how they make you feel when your vehicle is stolen. They certainly don't make it a priority getting to you to take a report from what I've heard. Lots of waiting time for them, lost time in catching the thief in a few short blocks or so.

I call the illegals what they are - illegal insurgents/terrorists. I have been hoping that Homeland Security would have taken care of them since we technically ARE at war and keeping the borders in order really falls under their jurisdiction now. No such luck.

Always back your truck into a parking space, turn the wheels, and make sure you have your pin locked on your receiver. There is some speculation that they plug into your receiver to pull your vehicle away, then somewhere a block or two later in an inconspicuous place they break into it, hotwire, etc to drive away or load onto a flatbed. Interesting possibility, could have some validity.
