I just installed my raptor 150 and Vulcan V draw straw kit but im having some issues. The first issue is that my fuel gauge on the dash is not working and is showing empty with the gas light on even though i have a full tank. And the second problem is that when i accelerate hard my rail pressure drops to like 6-8k psi for a few seconds which causes it to loose power and then the rail pressure with come right back up to normal and pull hard. It seems like the raptor is cutting out for some reason under heavy acceleration. it never did this before with the stock pump. Im not sure but i think my problem might be that i hooked the raptor up to the positive and negative wires that were connected to my factory pump that i removed to install the Vulcan kit, but im not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i will be trying to pull it back apart tomorrow so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. thanks

 

where exactly did you cut the wires to tap into the electric for the raptor? The fuel tank has 4 wires going to it. I think the fuel power feed for the in tank pump is either orange with a red trace red with the orange tracer. I'm fairly certain it should be orange with the red trace though. I'd have to check. Also, it's been a long time since I installed a raptor, most of the systems I install are the air dogs, but did it come with a relay set up? Or just wire taps?

With you saying that the fuel gauge is not working, that has me wondering if you possibly tapped the wrong wire for power feed. Also, there is a possibility that the draw straw in the tank is hitting the fuel sending unit arm.

 

Would recommend contact Purflow and talk with Toby about it. He is the one who knows these pumps and the truck and should be able to help you. He did with me when I had minor issues with my 2 pumps.
