Raced A New Duramax
Thats the only way, you have to slip it to put a load on the engine so it will fuel and spin the turbo, in return build boost, trust me dodnt do it, you will be lucky to doit 3-6 times (if that) before your clutch wont hold it in 6th gear driving down the road.
ya i know thats the only way to build boost but thats flat out dumb haha, plus it would stink like crazy,
Without reading more than 4-5 posts, I thought I would post. My friend has a 350hp-650tq. 06' D-max and that sucker runs. It's 100% stock, and I know this. If I had an automatic I think I would have taken him, but it probably still would have been close. I left a lot of smoke, but he was gone! That thing moves. If it makes anyone feel better, the motor had to be replaced a week or two later because of a faulty injector, but he got a recall notice a couple days after, so it was a known problem.
el jefe how do you like that VA 3.2 Ez stack? I ran it for a while and it is very smooth and drivable but it runs hot and likes to make smoke. The biggest down fall I saw with the stack was lots of smoke and not much go down low, it just felt flat out of the hole. However I never set a code and only had one slight cruise control problem with the 3.2. Just be warned there is a lot more power to be had with different boxes and downloaders.
Also if you are running a boost elbow use caution I killed my stocker very quickly with boost just over 35 lbs.

I have a 06 dmax with the LBZ for a company truck, its pretty quick for a stocker, but the only reason for that i think is the tranny. I think if the cummins had a 6 speed they would be just as quick. Its quick of the line but kinda falls on its face when u get over 50 mph. But none the less pretty quick for stock. I would have to say though that if you race a 06 dmax and it smokes, Its not stock!!!
