I had lots od D-max kill stories in my old 215HP 99 with a comp box and Mach 5's stock turbo. I beat 2 D-maxes that both had the edge they were 05LLY though. One was low speed and the other was freeway. I heard the LBZ's are faster though and they will tear up a CTD stock for stock, but I'm not so sure about stock LBZ beating CTDw/ J/A.

As far as boost launch try to save thoes for special occasions as it will wear out your tranny if you do it alot. Anyone who races will always do a boost launch. Its worth about 1-2 seconds in the 1/4.

a friend of mine has an 06 d max, with just a BDDL, i had the tst, and BD turbo, EZ, and air intake , exhaust, etc, just to beat him, by like 3 trucks.
they are fast, stock, and chipped.
i can now beat him up pretty bad, but i still can't use all my power, seems to run out of fuel or some thing. i know when they have more out for the 06 d max, i will be looking for more power again.those fords are fast too, but i raced a guy a couple of times with one, a dually, and after about 7 or 8 races, he needed to add a whole lot of coolant!!!!
that motor blew up not long after. needless to say, he don't beat on it any more.

ya just launch that truck in 4wheel then turn it to 2wheel in like 2nd then your set need all the traction you can get in your 60 foot. better you hook in the 60 = faster 1/4 time, but the more you spin in the 60 = faster mph but still a slower 1/4. just what ive seen in the past 5 or so years in racing

THe 06 LBZs are stupid fast and I really think it all has to do w/ the 6 speed allison. Just because they smoke doesn't mean they're modded. Stock 6.0 fords smoke at will, plus dirty filters make everything smoke. I think we might have a chance in the stock class now that a 6 speed auto/CTD exists, JMO. We'll see!!

LISTEN CAREFULLY: Keep it in 4wd the whole time. If you try to shift out you might get by a couple times or hundreds but.... I have seen this happen- A friend exploded his transfer case when he tried to shift out and he caught traction. All of the friends I drag with now keep the 4WD engaged wether it be 1/8 or 1/4. On the street I usually go 2WD. I wouldnt run much more than 1/4 in 4WD above 90 though on the street.

Maybe some guys shift out all the time and are fine but I have seen the aftermath of shifting out...and I dont want to see anyone go through that again.

Define "stock", everything on my truck is from the OEM, might not have been configured by Dode/Cummins, but all OEM parts!!!

i was always told growing up that running your truck in 4x4 on the street over 40 mph would tear it up.

Ive hit 95 mph several times. Seen this hundreds of times but only one major failure when the guy tried to shift out. I always coast quite a ways at the end and then shift out below 20

If you are shifting you will not have enough time to shift out of 4x4 anyways. You have a dually, that is enough traction. Dont worry about 4x4, like they said you'll end up breaking the T-case.

To be honest if you are under full acceleration your t-case will not shift anyways until it has the tq removed from it, you might be able to move the selector or whatever, but nothing will really happen til the tq is released. Also this is a bad thing cause if too much tq is released during a shift it could also shift at that point which will then lead to streched chains or worse. Best to leave it in all the way, it wont hurt it in any way,, after all you are only going a 1/4 mile
