Questions and observations
As I know there some brilliant minds here, I need help trying to get my setup working properly. My Outlook monitor has never read over 32lbs boost. It is brand new and I have run it for over a month. Today, after some good accel., the monitor froze. It held all values and displayed them, but no matter what I did it was simply frozen. Each time, the values were just -after- peak: boost read something like 24psi, rail read 21K etc. On the second run defueling kicking in at 1,250. It hit about 1,267 deg.
Power was still applied and the monitor was lighted. The only way to correct was to shut down and restart. It actually happened again only after a hard run. The only difference is the fresh install of the TST box. Could there be some cable interference (noise)
Truck runs STRONG even with monitor frozen. No codes whatsoever. I have the BDDL set at Performance and the TST at 4/4. Boost limiting turned off. My mechanical wastegate is supposed to be set at 40-45 psi. Smoke is huge only until turbo builds boost. After, it actually cleans up nice.
Forgot to add: The timing rattle is very obvious under heavier load with this combo. This was my concern at the beginning. I don't like this. Perhaps the TST upgrade that can adjust timing will be necessary.
Thanks,
Chris

I am very happy with my turbo. I know there are many good choices and I looked at most before I made my purchase. I don't tow and will never have a need to. My truck is just transportation and entertainment.
I made my decision on several factors: I would say to study compressor maps, design, warranty, history, etc. before making your decision.
My observations are thus far limited. But I can say that you can throw some fuel at this turbo. A certain amount of lag is there and it will be with all. This is most obvious at about 55 mph and rolling on the throttle. The smoke will roll until the turbo lights. After this, it actually cleans up nice. This is good.
