over the last two days...i removed the old rotten stock exhaust system and installed a 4" BD stainless as well as upgrading to an AFE filter.(now i can really hear the whine from the turbo )...i changed the fuel filter cartridge as well...

i know you arent really supposed to see an improvement in power doing these things...but because the old system still had a (probably plugged) CAT... there is a MARKED improvement in throttle response and hill climbing torque...and in just day to day driving...the coolant temp barely registers..

everything else about the truck is stock for the most part...my questions are

1..the oil pressure guage shows an increase in oil pressure (why??)
2..on downhill when i drop truck into 2nd it seems to hold speed down MUCH better than before the upgrades...(why??)

are these things possible or is it just my imagination??? thx..vs

 

I'm assuming you have an automatic tranny.

Maybe the reduced backpressure is the reason.
