Question: just got my CR smarty..Help

and i cant find the odbII port in my '06 ctd, the instructions say its under the dash,
I want to put it on and try it can anyone help me find the dang port on the truck???

On my 05, it's just to the right of the parking brake release... I don't think the 06's are different.

It's actually almost directly below the steering column; just to the left. Stick your hand underneath and you will feel an old serial-cable-pinter-like port.

Thank you guys, as usual you are great. I found it and out in sw#7

WOW just on these old back roads its a world of differance. Now the next question is if i am "gentle" can i run sw#7 without killing my stock trans (48re)

There is only one slight little problem.... You WON'T be gentle!

I have been down that road and unless you have a whole lot more self control you will waste your stock tranny like I did

so what does a guy do when the stock 48re goes kaboom, go to a trans shop and get what, same thing, or a better one. What is better out there in autos?

$5000 if you don't want to have to worry about it again.....

$3500 for one that may last a bit longer than the stocker.....

Get over the tranny hurdle as fast as you can (read; UPGRADE) then it's BOMBs away from that point forward.

Thats a good way to put it. A hurdle! Ha! It is so true to me it is what keeps holding me back from doing anything. I just honestly can't afford to do the tranny right at this time...
