My brother in law has a Banks 6 gun on his truck. His boost gauge plugs into the Banks harness, so it is an analog gauge but is actually picking up an electrical signal and not actual boost. He has been getting 36-38psi. He bought a boost fooler to try to help with egts while towing and called me last night because now he is only seeing 28psi max. What I don't know is if he is getting more than that but the banks gauge set up is confused, or if the boost fooler and banks are not gettig along and he really is only getting 28psi.

Any thoughts?

The purpose of the boost fooler is to "fool" the electrical signal coming from the MAP sensor so that the truck can creat more boost without triggering the electronic waste gate. The boost is definately higher now, you are just seeing 28 indicated because that is the max that the boost fooler "fools" the computer into seeing.

Edit: the only reason to worry is if he's actually tapped in to the turbo itself for the boost gauge, but I'm pretty sure the banks just gets it off the MAP sensor.
