Quad, I'm the guy in Iraq you just hooked up with that Race box for an 03. My folks put it on and they say it's great. They said it's a tiny little thing. From what i understand, the Race used to be 140hp. Now all the advertising I see is calling it a 160hp box... What gives? Are the little maxbox sized Race modules 140hp or 160hp? Anyone's help appreciated. I know Quad's a busy guy.

I need some advice from the Quadzilla camp;
I have the go ahead from my performance manager - namely wifey - to go ahead and buy a std or race box 140 / 160 HP.
All I will be doing is weekend hauling and daily driving.
Should I wait for the new upgrades as I will not be stacking and "extreming"
-just want to be a ble to wow a few people around me with the "Diesel"

Please help before she changes her mind.

Thanks in advance

Rod

IMO: anything more than the XZT you need gauges. With just the XZT I can draw fuel pressure down to zero in about 7 or 8 second at wot and hit 39 psi of boost. It is easy to hit 1400 EGTs while towing in the mountains.

I think with the race box gauges are a must.

I am probably going to make a new thread about the new box. I am getting far too many pm's and emails and I don't want people to be confused.

It still needs to be beta tested on a larger group of trucks but, I think at this point we are not going to be changing anything. I think all the major changes and added features are complete and it is how it is going to be now.

It will not be for everyone, I don't think. I am not going to list pricing for upgrades or for retail. We are getting updated literature out to our dealers as we speak and it won't be long and the pricing will be out on everyones website or you can call them for it.

We are not discontinuing our current Xzillraider box. You will still be able to purchase it just like you can today. We will continue to produce it until people do not buy any of them.

It is going to be a good 45 days if not a little more to have any production parts available and maybe more like 60 days? It is one thing to get 50 out and another to get 1000 out. We still have a lot of kinks in the production line and on the manufacturing side to smooth out before we can get them going. We did this project pretty quickly from start to finish.

For some it will be worth buying a current module and then upgrading when they become available. We have an awesome trade in program that is done directly through us. It is extremely generous and is more about having happy customers than making money on them. Trust me, when you see the upgrade process you will know that no one is breaking the bank!!

So, I will try to get some info out on them here shortly.

If you look really close through the website you will see some hints. Not all of them but, there are hints about certain things that are new on it.

I am not trying to be secretive, I am trying to make sure I don't tell you one thing and then end up producing another. When I say this is what you get, this is what you will get!

You might want to look at the STD box instead of the race one. I originally got the race box and and changed to the STD box as it fits my daily driving and towing requirements much better.

I recommend the same. I tow with my Std. module and it's perfect. I usually have it on the 60 h.p. setting but can drop it to 30 h.p. if EGTs start getting too high.

ok Im lost. I thought the new race module was for the older cummins not the 3rd gens?
if it is for the 3rd gens than I'll sign up for the beta testing. I just bought a race box and will be getting a commander. the turbo timer would be a good feature.

gri, there are 2 new modules coming out. 1 for the 24v vp44 trucks, and 1 for the common rails.

the std and race modules are essentially the same, the race has slightly more aggressive fueling and higher power levels, but it can still be dropped down for towing. i towed with a race module for 2 years, no trouble.
