Quad Race box with boost elbow?

I have a stock '03 HO 6spd QC except for a boost elbow.
I already have boost and EGT guages. I just got a used Quad race box.
My boost is max at 29psi with the elbow, 21 or so without (I cannot remember exactly.)
Should I reinstall the stock elbow with the Race box?
Were there any issues with the '03 boxes or is all the commotion about the '04.5 and newer?

Thanks for the info,

xblshortcut

Quad told me they actually saw a decrease in hp on the dyno with a boost elbow installed. he even offered to send me one for free if I really wanted one. I promptly took mine off and my boost levels have not changed. I still see 29-30 psi max. The difference is that it doesn't seem to spool as quickly...

It seems that most of the problems with the Quad boxes involve 2005 trucks. Mine has been trouble free, except for getting me into trouble.....

Dodgezilla, where do you have your Quad switch at?
I am thinking about where the cig lighter is if I can make it work. With the lower power outlet and anouther in the console...

It's a real pain figuring out where to put that switch. Now I have another switch with the VA box. Anyways, if you look at the picture of my "Guage mount for tightwads" in my gallery I have mounted the switch in a toggle switch holder and stuck it in between the guages. It's not in the picture but you can get an understanding of where I put it. I just did that this weekend. Until now I just wrapped the wire around the steering column and had the switch laying on top...

I mounted my switch in the glovebox. I got a housing for it at advance auto that fits great. Screwed the housing to the top left (of the dash really) of the box. I can reach it, doesn't mess with stuff stored, best of all no one knows its there, like the dealer or the kid at the carwash.

but the lighter would be very trick

I agree, only need to figure a way to cleanly reduce the size of the hole from about 1" to 7/16"...

Mine is under the emergency brake handle. You have to look under it to see the switch.

Somebody actually removed the lighter and mounted theirs there about the time these boxes first came out. You may want to do a search because it looked great...

That's a pretty good idea. I have mine in the same vicinity. It's just not solidly mounted yet...

put mine on the little panel that pops off from around the radio. located it right at the edge under the gear shift just out of reach of the gear shifter and within close proximity to the steering wheel. It is really hard to see if you don't know where to look.
