Cylinder 2 Reactivation Control Performance

Ok my buddy called me from deer camp and said his speedo quit working the check engine light, abs light and another light came on on the instrument panel. Everthing elese is in working condition (truck still runs).
The truck is an '07 mega with 5.9. The only mod he has on it is a triple dog. He put the truck back to stock and disconnect both positive battery terminals for a few hours, but still the above problems exist. He drove the truck to the nearest town which has an Oriely and they pulled the code "U" code listed above.
Has anyone else seen this one? He is about 350miles from his house and he does want to mess anything up by driving it home with this problem.
