Me and my buddy both have 03 ctd's i have a diablo predator and he has a smarty. we decided to trade for the weekend and when i went to put my predator back on after removing his smarty, the predator no longer works on my truck. It says, your vehicle is not in our database. Any ideas?

 

Are you sure it was completely removed from you buddy's truck? I know with the Superchips that if even a tire change is left on a truck and all the tunes are removed, the tuner considers itself tuned too that truck. Then it will not tune another.

 

smarty may have updated your stock software to a newer chrysler software so you would need to update your diablo from their website.

smarty always uses the most current chrysler software when returning to stock.

 

Good luck with that. I'm not sure they offer the latest software like you guys at MADS do. Plus the customer service is completely gone over there at Diablosport. I'm afraid to try to switch over to a different DL because it seems that everybody who does it has problems......

 

I thought this at first, but my predator loaded fime into his truck and it would have had the most current stock software in it too.

 

any updates to this problem?im asking because i want to try another tuner,hey when you tried the smarty compared to the pred was there much diference?ive seen a few smarties in the classifieds and have almost made the plunge but if theres no dif then ill spend the dolars on somthing esle

use the smarty to read the ecm software code in each truck. simple and easy to do.

no doubt its a older software version error, simple to fix

 

I have a buddy with the smary on his truck. I was thinking bout getting one but I wanted to try his out before I bought one, so one day he let me use it and I was expecting it to blow my socks off!!!! But to my surprise was not impressed at all with it. Don't get me wrong it had some serious power and smokes a lot, but I thought my predator was just as good especially for less than half of the price of the smarty.

 

I too thought both had comparable power but one thing that surprised me is that my predator on extreme will slip my stock clutch easy, and the smarty on sw9 wouldnt

Go smarty and dont look back. We did testing during diesel nationals comparing the big 3 bullydog with quad x2 ran 13.7x no low end at all pulls hard on big end mph was high, diablo rkl nonstackr quad x2 13.466 all low end falls off in middle and holds on big end, Smarty sw#9 quad x2 13.309 all around good. Thanks to bob by the way. Diablo blew off my results for more hemi tuning and apparently everyone elses rants too, good way to get repeat customers, they wont get my business or recomendations anymore. We didnt have any troubles going back and forth at all.

 

i guess its the 04.5 and up where thesmarty kicks,thanx for the info.ill just stack my pred.you know what i think is tha johan over at diablo doesnt work theree any more,its weird he hasnt beenor on in months even for important issues.
