Thumbs down Predator Box

Got my stage 1 in today. I hooked it up, jumped in the truck and got ready to test it out. Thats where the fun ended. The truck took a few seconds to fire, and once it did it ran like crap. The check engine light stayed on as well as the "water in fuel" light.

I got out, checked everything over again in hopes that it was a loose connection. This time the truck would not start at all. Needless to say, it is on it's way back as I type this. Has anyone else had this experience?? I will receive my money back when they get it back supposedly. If they give me any trouble, I will tell the name of the company so others can avoid them if need be. I'm always leary about refunds.

Yup, that bites,.....
Every company has a "lemon" once in awhile.

Please give the company involved the oportunity to correct the problem before declaring an all out Flame-fest.

Cooslice-I agree-w-you and "feel your pain" but it is also true that the real test is how they respond from a customer service standpoint.
One side thought I had was the "runs like crap" statement. Sometimes after chasing a gallon of coffee-w-a bag of those glow in the dark marshmallow cupcakes the speed at which.........UM - never mind.

So, was your truck OK after you took it off? Any residual troubles? Man, when I'm thinking about dipping into the wallet, these threads make me nervous

I agree and I am not trying to flame at all, just a little bummed. I would have been open to the idea of just trying another Predator, and actually they accidentally sent me another by ground but the guy I spoke w/ never mentioned to me that it may be a lemon or I should try another. This made me wonder if this wasn't the first time he has heard this. If he would have said, "I have never heard of one doing that", or "thats weird" then I would have tried another.

I will give the company a chance to make it right by refunding my money, including shipping which was $41 for overnight. I work for FedEx and can say without a doubt that that is what we call an overcharge, but its my fault for paying it. We'll see what happens.

Does anyone have this on an 04.5 with good results???

The truck ran fine after I took it off. The check engine light stayed on, but I unhooked the negative terminals and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Problem solved. I thought the predator sounded too good to be true, I guess it was....

Does anyone have this on a 03? I am looking into buying one, I sold my Edge to get another box. Thinking of just going to a Banks Six Gun, I know there tech support is good. I am also looking at the Ramifer. If all else fails, I will proable go back to edge and get the new Juice.

I just had a problem with my EZ box and when I called them they were suprised at the problem but promptly put another in the mail to me. That's customer service.
I'm in the same boat as you BallisticDiesel in that I may be looking for a box which will give me more power. I'm about ready to spring for a Converter and valve body and then it will be go time!! The EZ box is great for the stock trans but I want more power and I'm not going to get it before I get the trans right...

I went from Edge ez to TSTpmcr and awsome power
No complaints here just dial up the torque and H.P. settings you are comfortable with and forget about it
I jump between 2-2 and 4-2 and EGT stays in check
P.S. on setting 6-5 My Cali. S.O. trk dynoed at 390 H.P.
And with box off and only Afe pg7 and 4" free flow exhaust I dynoed at 188 H.p. at rear wheels
That is a 202 H.P. gain over stock on Cal. S.O. truck and not even on highest box settings

That sounds a little high DAYTRIPPER, I hope the dyno wasn't screwed up. If that's true then I might want one of those once I get my trans upgraded......

Daytripper where did you get the tst? and how much?
Did you talk to the service rep on the phone to order or just order online?
I know so many questions.
I have been going back and forth on the tst and the six gun
