ppe hot or bd scary larry
which is better a ppe hot or the bully dog scary larry for a 2005 5.9 with the mods i have in my sig. no nitrous just on fuel

I know questions like this are usually after someone who has both and can give an unbiased opinion....but if i had to guess......
PPE as well as most of the other gauge/shiftOTF/downloader boxes, have always had the basic settings, and with a signing of a disclaimer, access to the higher settings freely. Where as Bully Dog was forced to take Crazy Larry off the market because it was too much power and people were smokin bottom ends and trannys. And as you probably already know, Scary Larry is a custom tune written for a select few, which is a few steps above Crazy Larry. So i can only imagine how much better scary larry is than any other downloader out there. this will probably be debated over... but i dare even compare the Larry tunes to a sm
rty tuned truck.

i just sold my bd with larry tunes on my truck and switched to a smarty tnt and dynoed instantly with only the programmer change at 65hp more and that was with pedifile larry (suposible the strongest larry tune) ive tried all the larry tunes and the PL tune dynoed the most. so 4 my truck at leased the smaty owns the bd.

just between ( those two programs )
BD scary larry wins that battle... hands down on an 05 truck !

Don't know about PPE, but I ran BDTD Scarry Larry on my 05 auto & switched to Smarty Revo/TNT. I felt BDTD was very strong, in fact SOP says stronger than Smarty on my setup. However, staying w/Smarty because undetectable.

welp dont know about what is better 4 what year but from the record stand points i believe ppe is better in the 1/4 miles and bd is doing better in the dyno section.
but thats not what this thread is about. Start a new thread and label it"same old usual Bully Dog/Smarty Pee Pee contest.
