PowerMaxCR
Theres obviously several choices for power enhancements from a moderate increase like the EZ offers to the BIG POWER the TST offers. I think the Banks product falls in the middle of that category and will probably satisfy many peoples needs and wants for power. I think many people on this thread have pretty much voiced what they feel is right for " them " .
Of course Rod wants to wreck his clutch and replace it with something superior...he is in the business to know the limits.
Of course he has a different turbo...he outgrew the HY long ago and now he/we are testing something else. Our testing results are always conveyed to people so that they have a " heads up " on what could happen if they want to play in the upper levels of what TST offers and what others will be offering in the very near future.
Even if I put a small power module on a truck...what if something from the factory did not get put together quite right or there was a flaw in a part? There is always a risk factor when looking at changes to a factory spec on a truck or anything.
Plan it smart and know your own limits. Whether that be budget, common sense
, risk and or fear of what might happen.
I have said this before and will say it again...
IF YOU WANT TO PLAY BE PREPARED TO PAY!
Even if a product is designed perfectly, there is never a guarantee that its not going to fail an already compromised component. That compromised component could simply be defective from the start.
The learning curve is still green...we will convey whatever we learn to help folks save money, downtime and perhaps a bad decision given what they are wanting to do.
I need a coffee.

When mods are placed on a vehicle, the first thing that needs to happen is that the power levels NEED to be set to their lowest setting. Run the truck a bit, and check where your gauges are at. If it looks like you have some room to move up, bump the power up. If it looks like the current power setting is all you can use, with your driving style, then don't touch it.

Rod and Scotty:
Very good points on the TST CR Fueling Box and your results from
all the testing you have done!
----------
gdh:
I stand behind what I said in my earlier post about Mark Chapple and
TST Products! And,......as I also said the "Banks Six Gun and Speed
Loader" will always be available for the "faint of heart!" And if you
and Rod ever decide to race or anything, my money will be on his new
Dodge CTD CR!!
I would love to see that BTW!!

Whatcha worried about? Your a welder right?
Lil spark and melt here, lil splat there and no problemo.

Whoa,........."ruffled some feathers there" did we???
And FYI,.....I will make a comment about a product on this
site anytime I want to,.....UNLESS Jack Thorpe or an
Administrator tells me not to "gdh!!" So far,.....I haven't
seen "Administrator" by your name so don't think you can
just come on here and control the thread!
YOU started the criticism about the TST boxes by saying
"they will trash a new and expensive motor" and by saying
"the power from TST's boxes not being usable power on
a stock truck" and "that TST is misleading!" In my last
post that is what I was referring to "gdh"!! Specifically
that Mark Chapple and TST have done alot of testing
contrary to what you and others think. THAT is what I
meant in my statement to you! I also know several
owners of the new Dodge CTD CR who also have the new
TST CR Box and they have not had any problems with them!
So my observations and experiences are different than yours.
And also FYI,........my son just purchased a new 2004 Dodge
CTD CR and I drive that truck on a regular basis in addition
to my 2002 Dodge CTD which is equipped with a TST PM 3!

Please forgive me. I'm a little tired.
To me, the Banks is not the way to go. They boost the psi on the rail way too high. They take it close to the service limit.
I read the TST threads with great interest. I'm cheap! I want something to see me to the "end." Not the "end" of my truck but the "end' of my mods. I don't currently plan on changing a warranty voiding thing till the end of my warranty. I do tow a large/heavy trailer. I want to be able to stay above 55 whilst towing. The TST "SEEMS" to be the way to go.
Not at 9/9! I don't even have plans to buy one yet and I've figured that out. They make it with optional guages for Pete's sake. What's that tell you? This box is HOT! I like stuff that will let you hose yourself. It's how you tell the MEN from the boys. Anyone can stomp it and go.
Some of you have complained about spending a few grand. I bet you waste more than that on things YOU know about? Yes, that's a question. For me, and you. I forget sometimes too. I look forward to running the TST. I hope the add a 12/12 mode for major modded trucks. That means if I want to go that route, I won't have to change. I'm not saying I want to run 12/12 on a stocker. Being a real "driver" means taking care of your equipment.
Some people are happy with "idiot" lights. Other, are not.
I hope I made a good point without sounding inflamatory.

I really hate to beat the poor dead dog any more but I can't help it. the statement that the banks system is for the faint of heart and the tst is for the racers im not sure is completely true. I believe that the banks system has a great foundation for power do to the fact that know codes are being thrown and the temps have major room for improvements. The tst does have i little more adjustability on the banks system and that can be handy. If a guy wants to build a project truck for sand drags or 1/4 mile banks will gladly help and give the info needed to make 1st place power they have the knowledge and experience this is know back yard outfit that has to blow everything up to find the right combo I dont think many can argue with the sidewinder project that banks is for the faint of heart. its all what you want to do with system but i do believe that it can do both everyday and project trucks very well. they both have potential when its your turn on the line. which reminds me that I to have raced against tst and quad and beat them both with the banks truck and they have beat me as well. we all know that there are more variables to racing than just hp. although it helps. poor dog!
For the money you sink into a banks kit, you can spend that money elsewhere and be a LOT faster. That has been the case since the 1st gen trucks, and it continues to be the case. Their sidewinder truck isn't that impressive power wise for that has been done to it. A full tilt race engine rebuilt from someone like Scheid, EEP, PDR, etc. will get a lot more than 750hp! When it comes to diesel performance they will always be behind the big diesel shops and the big diesel box makers like TST and Edge.
