I agree with Kerry - I'd suspect FOD in the high pressure side of the fuel system as the likely cause of the problem; after all, you did find rubber detritus in the fuel past the filter, right?

If it's big enough to see - it's big enough to FUBAR the tight-tolerance internals of the CP3, injectors & rail.

I didn't see where you flushed or inspected the CP3/Flux side of the high-pressure circuit?

Were you in the Navy XLR8R? Haven't heard FOD and FUBAR in 12 years since I got out!

My dealers around me here will hook up to anything...heck even are pretty fair about waranties on "Properly Modded" trucks...

Pay one to go for a drive with the Starscan hooke dup and watch whats going on with commanded and actual rail pressure...

Then...start eliminating problems.

Plug the RV.
Clean/check all fuel lines and crossover tubes.
Remove all electronics.
Have the CP3 checked by John/Floor It or swap in another...

It stinks...but you will just have to go down the trouble shootign path of one thing at a time.

About to go that route again with my 04.5....

first off thanks to everybody for tryin to help me figure it out. It WAS another piece of foam in the fuel system. Didn't hurt anything, JD pulled the tank and fass and there it was. Its hard to believe the symptoms could act so different and it be the same problem.

Also I'm gonna guess the first FCA that went bad in my stage 2 mustve got something in it. It just seems wierd it would have made it thru the fass filters.

I also refused to believe it was the same problem cause the diesel shop I had it at before swore there couldn't be anything left in the tank or lines the way they flushed it all. I guess ya can't trust anybody?

Anyway thanks again to everybody.

Now if I could get over this flu and sinus infection I would go get it. Bummer.

There was also some cardboard in the return line fitting. The piece of rubber or foam was in the draw tube.
We didn't get a chance to get it on the dyno today. The first truck we put on had a few issues we were trying to get figured out and it ended up taking all day.
Tristan, your truck runs STRONG! Talk about some top end power. I hope we can get around to dynoing it before you come pick it up.

So where did the cardboard and foam come from? AFAIK neither of these are normally part of my fuel system. Are they leftovers from an installation or packing material or something?
