With the Mitusa it would be best to filter the fuel before the supplied regulator and then through the factory.

Anyone know what the part # is on the Donaldson filter that goes in the factory fuel canister? Isnt it like 5micron????

I would think that, just my .02, that it would be best to run a vacuum f/w sep filter before the Mitusa (like the Baldwin 1212) then the mitusa, then regulator, then the OE filter bowl with the Baldwin PF7977, then the cat 1R-0750, then the psi gauge, then the CP3... That would provide clean fuel to the mitusa, have 2 f/w seps, and a 5um and a 2um filter.

The 5um filter for the OE bowl is the Baldwin PF7977.

I see what your saying... seems like alot but that would definitely keep your fuel clean.

But the regulator in the mitusa kit has to go before the Mitusa pump, so thats why im gonna run the 1R-0750 before the regulator and then through the factory filter bowl, Tim barber is running this setup on both his trucks.
I asked him if the factory f/w sep was good enough and he said he hasnt had on issue with water getting into the fuel.

Thanks for the part # on the Baldwin!!

How does that regulator work? That just seems bassackwords.

And the fitting and heads for those filters are cheap, its really a simple economical setup.

I would put the OEM filter and the Cat after the Mitusa, they are designed to work on pressure. The 1212 is a vacuum filter. The Mitusa is regulated to 16psi right?

Thanks for the instructions. I understand it now. Yes the fuel routes next to the regulator before the pump, but isn't regulated until after the pump. The fitting just mixes the regulator output with the inlet fuel.

So I have added where I recommend filtration on the Mitusa setup. This setup will give you the BEST possible filtration and f/w separation available. And will flow plenty of fuel.

That will filter your fuel for sure! Id say anyway you do it will be fine as long as you have some kinda filtration before the regulator so you dont get any debris it. Having two f/w sep's isnt a bad idea either..........

Just wasnt happy with it, way too loud for my taste! And IMHO the mechanical Mitusa system is a way more reliable system, you get two belts with the system incase a belt should break (unlikely) you have a spare and in about 5mins you could have the belt back on and be back on the road!

And the OE pump is still there as a backup if the pump itself took a dump, or you were somewhere that was unpractical to change the belt.

Man im tellin ya these kits are just totally AWESOME, and the Mitusa pump itself.. well let just say that things dosent give a rats behind what make's it through the filters cause its a spur gear pump and will just chew the crap outta anything that makes it to the pump! (if anything makes through the filters that is)

Plus they are uber-reliable, have fail safe mechanisms and we can pick what filters we want to run, not the less than stellar filters you find on the FASS/AD. Hope the pump treats you well!
