Performance transmission

I need some serious performance transmission guidance. As I am making some power, I need some advice. With 14K, my trans. is ok, but it will not hold the power. I can dirve right through the converter at will. This is nothing new and is much worse in higher temps and sitting in traffic.

I know the stock transmission is decent but is not adequate and designed to handle the power that I can produce. The question is just how much will I need to spend. I have a quote from Suncoast for about 6K. I am ready and able to spend this amount if it is necessary. I am not willing to traverse the country to do this. Fort Walton Beach (Suncoast) is about 9 hours from me and a motel for two nights.

The basics of this trans:

transmission (rebuilt)
torque converter (triple disc)
billet input shaft
Hytec pan
Installation
FL tax

Thoughts please as this is a LOT of money. If this is what I need, then it will happen soon. Otherwise, let me know options........

Thanks,

Chris

I have over 6k in mine. Done by Michael @ HotRodDiesels.com. This does include Dunrite triple disc custom stall converter, Piers billet input, intermediate and output shaft, new clutch packs, valve body rebuild, internals machined to exact spec, mag-hytec 7xx pan, etc.

I am in the 550rwhp range currently and have had many passes with 20psi+ power brake 4wd launches with no problems yet. The builder/installer is as important as the compenents.

If you are going to try and use the power you can make with those mods you need to do it right the first time. I also recommend billet flexplate, they seem to be breaking pretty often with 550rwhp and up.
