Question Performance transmission mounts?

I need help sourcing some performance transmission mounts for the truck in my signature. I've tried Energy Suspension and Prothane without much luck.

I'm looking for something using polyurethane, etc that is much stiffer than stock, but still allow some vibration dampening.

Thanks, Eric

the stock mount is pretty stout. I've yet to see anyone with a problem. You get it too stiff and you'll feel/hear everything.

Thanks Triton...Yeah, leave it to me to be the first!

I just installed a Mitchell overdrive gear splitter, and am working through some issues.

Everything's mounted, but through first and second gear I'm getting BAD vibration. I had the girlfriend drive the truck while I was laying on the ground watching things...and the transfer case is twisting/bobbing up and down pretty badly. Evidently, the gear drive unit introduced some bad torsional loading on take off for some reason.

Anyway, the transfer case moves up and down 2" - 3" at the point where the front driveshaft connects...and the movement comes from the 2 squishy rubber transmission mounts.

I've used the polyurethane mounts on my old 1982 dodge, and was looking for something similar here. With the 5" exhaust, 37" M/Ts, 3850 DD clutch, and gear whine of the Mitchell unit, I'm not all that concerned about a little more noise coming from stiffer transmission mounts.

Anyone?

If your truck has a two piece drive line you may need to raise the center bearing to get the proper angles back. If it is a one piece, the rear end may need to be shimmed, if engine is 7° off of vertical, rear end should be the same. If the ODrive isn't married to the transmission, it must be installed at the same angle. Good luck.

Go to a 1 piece driveshaft you don't need a 2 piece.I had to get another crossmember built for one of my customers with big torque and towing hard with a 4wd running a gear vendor

Eric, both the Energy Suspension & Prothane pieces are supposed to be cross-linked polyurethane. The mounting bolts for the tranny mount are too close together to counteract the mechanical advantage of the transfer case's torque reaction - especially with soft rubber mounts.

You could use a Delrin tranny mount and/or a bushed bracket between the T-case and the frame or skid plate.
