p-pumped cr vs. elec.

anyone know if p-pumping a cr will make more hp or do timing changes and programming on a cr make them more powerful (with modded pump of course)
also is the block on the 6.7s as stout as the 5.9s,I know the rods would have to go on the 6.7. would like to put a 6.7 longblock in my 06. if i were to set a older truck up for pulling was thinking about a p-pumped 6.7 w/good rods!

A 5.9 block is a much better construction for a high HP application. The 6.7's are going to be limited in max sustainable power to maintain integrity.

P-Pump or CR is going to be personal choice I would guess.

I'd take a 6.7L bottom end over a 5.9L just on strength & metallurgy alone... just have to remember when going for big HP that the BlueTec engines make a lot more torque than the 5.9 (no doubt why the rods pop more easily once you've got 1K HP in the rear view mirror).

Not the rods....... It's already been proven that the rods will let go sooner in the 6.7L.

You can make a CR put down crazy hp and be very driveable. If you p-pump it, you will lose that driveablity and the ability to detune the truck while driving.

... because the torque production of the 6.7L at an equivalent HP level is much more.

not really a CR with a mechanical pump is no different than a 12v or a 24v with a mechanical pump. pretty pointless to do it unless your going to pull it or race it unless you just don't want to screw with computers. I could have p-pumped mine for the same money I've got in all the boxes, programmers, injectors dual CP3's injectors ect. actually it would have probably have been cheaper and just as streetable as any 12v but without all the CR issues.

why is that what would make it any different then a 12v or a 24v with a p pump. i have a 07 5.9 that i am kicking the thought around of doing it to because i have had nothing but trouble with the cr electrical fueling crud. matter of fact i have to pull the motor because of what an injector caused and the motor was stock with 68k. this truck will be used as a haul truck to move my hot shot loads and construction equip around

HA! mines somewhere between 5-600hp (last dyno was right at 500 with boost leaks, fixed them now their back) and there is no way you could drive it turned up that high on a daily basis. It doesn't matter that you can turn the boxes/programmers down on a CR, in order to make that kind of power you need air. To get that kind of air you need either a huge single or larger twins, neither of which are street friendly with the fuel turned down. I don't even have what I would consider a large set of twins but with the truck turned down it takes forever to spool them and set to stock their horriable. It doesn't matter how the fuel is injected. You can put a switch on a p-pump and turn it down also, sure costs less than a programmer. My 05 starts hard, check engine lights, injectors knocking, I had a CP3 explode internally, I could buy an entire set of modified injectors for a 24v for amost what one CR injector costs. Can't wait for mine to melt down because an injector sticks.
