Hey guys,
I have some problems. I was on my way to work this morning and all of a sudden the cel came on and the truck started to skip and run like junk. I pulled over checked out what I could and found nothing. I tried to check code with the key but all that happened was the truck went into code check mode but came up with nothing. I continued on to work another 40 mile and truck would maintain speed but was gutless as can be. When I would take off I would blow LOTS of smoke. After I got to work I started checking things out with the Smarty. I had a 2146 code and a #3 injector code. I reset it a couple of times and it still had NO power. All of a sudden the truck started running fine. I have read a lot of threads but I haven't found any real answers. Does anyone really know what the 2146 code is. What do I do? Could there be something seriously wrong with my truck? I dive alert and don't want to have any troubles with my truck.

The DTR Wiki shows the 2146 code as: P2146 Bank 1 (Cylinders 1-3) Shorted High Or Low .. Not sure exactly what that means but figured it might help to know what it was.. Hope you get it worked out bro..

I was just thinkin.. im no diesel mech but it sounds injector related.. have you checked your oil level to make sure you dont have a hung injector??

 

dont know what year your truck is but a buddies 07 had the injector wire harness rub and short out. His had similar symptons ,dealer said it happens to a few

The dealer had me check a couple of things. I didn't find anything so I drove the truck home and it ran perfect. I will be taking it in tomorrow to let the dealer give her the once over.
