Hey dodgezilla04.

We don't usually get weather like what we are getting right now, so I'm not really complaining, it IS beautiful when the desert high mesa is snow covered. I know it's worth the wait, took me a while to decide what I wanted to do - have a long-range plan now. I really like the Zillaraider, so I know the Smarty will just make the smile bigger.

they are a good pair to stack. the quad will not add the advertised hp to the smarty. it just cant. the smarty by itself got me 459 hp, and with the quad maxed to 140, i topped out at 505hp. it added 65 hp, but i was pretty much maxed on fuel anyway. you wont be dissappointed.

post a pic of the mesas all dressed up, some of us like scenery.

I know the quad will not add the advertised power to the Smarty. I have done a lot of reading regarding the power boxes, and the one thing I kept coming across was how much people liked the quad and how few problems occurred. I don't race, don't sled pull, don't jackrabbit ricers at intersections or any of that stuff. I was just looking for some good, basic power when I need it, and maybe a little more for when my horns poke out a little and I'm throttling around the mountains like a road racer and just want to get on it.

I tow a lot, heavy horses and big loads of hay. More than likely I will be using the 1st setting of the Quad the most, and on open trips w/o the trailers the 2nd setting. I really do not see myself using the #3 much, if at all. I got the Smarty to deal with some of the programming needs like setting the tire size and getting rid of some of the timing rattle. I'll probably load the #1 setting and leave it there, use the Quad when I need the xtra power. I am adding the GDP Walbro kit in the spring, so fueling will not be a problem if I decide to persue a little more fun. I plan on replacing the stock clutch, am now doing that homework. It will be a work-in-progress thing for quite some time.

I really enjoy the driving pleasure of the Dodge CTD. Everything I need to do or go to is a ways off so lots of driving. Adding a few amenities to increase that pleasure is kind of where I am at, plus, sometimes it is just fun to see what you can do with something, that challenge can be very rewarding even if you are basically the only one who knows about it.

I have played with a lot of vehicles through the years. I have a 1993 Miata MX-5 with a 1600cc engine, 5-speed that I did a lot of mods to. Installed a Greddy Turbo, aluminum intercooler, aluminum custom intake, modded fuel rail, modded timing, custom boost/wastegate, custom exhaust, you name it, it's been done to it engine and tranny. I started with right around 100rwhp stock. Last dyno was 408rwhp. It is going into the garage in a couple of weeks and getting a complete suspension and brake upgrade and some ground effects for better aerodynamics. When I get out into the wide open spaces and endlessly long empty roads here in NM, I open it up and cruise somewhere around 130mph or so. Truly exhillarating to just fly down the road with the wind blowing your hair and the scenery on fast-forward. It has been tons of fun just playing with this and that to make it just right. I used to do a little racing with it, but mostly I just like to enjoy what I drive.

I'd love to post some pics of the NM scenery loaded with snow, but, I loaned my digital camera to a friend, so when it returns I will be taking some pics. That's also the reason I do not have a 'garage' on any of the websites. My friend went to Europe for a 10 month trip, day before she left her digital died. I have really missed having it, the cell phone pics are lousy or I would use that. Thought several times about picking up another one, then I remember mine will be back soon. Having said that, should be back here in a few days because she is returning on a flight tonight around 1-11pm, non-stop out of Minnesota to Albuquerque. Well, the airport is a mess, maybe she will be delaled a day or so. I'll have to check to see if it is even open.

i have had very little trouble with my quad, had it for 2+years now. i love it. i tow my rv on the 60 and 100hp settings with no problems. i wont use the smarty when towing. when you go for the clutch, consider the sb con ofe. i have one, love it, and it holds more power than advertised. enjoy.
