Or someone didn't check to make sure the old oil filter gasket came off before installing the new filter. I can tell you that makes a mess....

It doesn't take much to make a mess. When mine leaked I could barely see a difference in the oil level.

Well it might look sort of the same to start with, but the engine oil on mine is coal black 30 minutes of driving. Whereas my transmission fluid looks the same as when changed after 20k miles.

Its easy to tell if its motor oil or not. You said you drove it for a full day so that means your motor oil WILL BE jet black. So if its jet black I think you found were its comming from. If it looks like somewhat clean oil then its not from the motor.

It looks somewhat clean and it is kinda to runny to be motor oil kinda like 5w-30 oil so I am starting to lean towards tranny but it also looks like it is comming from the passenger side up top of the motor so it maybe the turbo line. Its hard to tell what it is being it was dark when I was looking at it. In some spots it looked pitch black oil and some look really clear so I don't know if it's getting dirty or not. I will figure it out this weekend hopefully.

All right got it looked at and it was the valve cover gasket. I had the valve cover off to re adjust the valves and messed up the gasket so I fifgured I'd re post and let you guys know what happened for future reference.
